I was peeking at the Sox 40-man roster, and Santeliz is on the list of pitchers.

Obviously he has some talent, otherwise he wouldn't be on the 40-man, but I'm a bit of a prospect fan and never heard of this guy...

Anyone have a report on him and if can he help the big club anytime soon?

I looked at his stats really quickly, and didn't look like he pitched enough to say whether he is good or bad. His ERA in WS, was in the 6+ range and in Birmingham was in the 4+ range.

I'm guessing he was placed on the 40 man for protection in the Rule 5 draft??? maybe???

Sadly, this isn't always the case. Phil Rogers is a big fan of him, from what I've heard.

I think he'll make it. He's young enough to learn some command. He obviously has a real good arm. He'll probably be best in the pen.

Anyway, I really had nothing to say but I was tired of looking at the same "last post" for a week.
