Those I like, I'm glad the Red Alternatives didn't last long

As a Pirates fan, I liked the old school look with the vests. The new unis are fine, but I liked the sleeveless jerseys better. At least they didn't bring back the mix-and-match mess from the late 70s.

Maybe the Pirates can add some talent to wear those new jerseys.

Oh, well. At least they still play in the amazingly beautiful PNC Park.

I like these.....they're not too far off from the Pirate's classic look which I've always liked. The Black Jerseys are especially nice.

I'm sure their fans would rather they put a competitive product on the field, but those are pretty sharp

I like the black. Shame they don't have much talent to put in the uniforms.

I agree with the love for the black ones, but why are uni numbers so low? Looks strange when they're unbalanced. And the yellow trim just looks a little odd, for some reason.

I LOVE the grey and white sleeved unis. Those red ones were just horrid. Now, if they'd just add sleeves to the stripes. And yes, put some talent in them!

Great, now bring back the pillbox hats!

We laughed at the red jerseys. The reason they did it was a play on Pittsburgh-ese. They say "red up" as a slang term for straighten up, as would pertain to your room or your house. The idea was "red up the Pirates", and it didn't work too well.

I didn't mind the sleeveless look. It was a classic Pirates uniform, but I like the road uniform with sleeves better. I still don't like that pin striped uni they have.

The black alternate is really cool, the overhaul in general looks a lot better too.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone ever realized that all 3 Pittsburgh teams wear black and yellow?

Yeah, it's been that way for over 30 years now, right?

I don't know about the black, but I think the "downtown" area of Pittsburgh is called the Golden Triangle, in reference to the confluence of the three rivers.

Edit: Wikipedia says Black and Gold are the colors on the flag of Pittsburgh because those were the two colors on William Pitts' coat of arms.

The black-and-gold Pens jerseys are sweet, but the throwback sky blue and royal blue ones are just outstanding.

Chalk me up for liking the script Pittsburgh on the Pirates' road unis more than the block lettering

Our road jerseys are beautiful, so that's a good thing.

I'm not dissagreeing. However, I do prefer the away-alt. I love the alternate, I have my Konerko jersey in that fashion.

I like them equally. I really think our jersey set right now is one of the best in the league. The Sox could play 54 games in the pinstripes, 54 in the alt black, and 54 in the road grey, and it'd be gravy.

I liked back in April and May when all we wore was black Alternative weather it was home or way, damn that was good mojo :)

I think they need to un-invent those sleeveless jerseys. They just don't look serious enough, or something. On any team.

I think they should have kept the sleeves on the home pinstripes and then made the solid whites sleeveless, similar to the Roberto Clemente era uniforms. I think that was what the last batch matched up to.

They didn't have sleeves on the last pinstriped set. The solid whites have been sleveless.

LOL ! I can still remember all the different combos they could have with those.

-All yellow, like above
-All black
-Yellow pants, black shirt
-Black pants, yellow shirt
-At home, they would sometimes wear this all white uni, with black pinstripes. Or, also combine it with either a black or yellow shirt or pants.

They would either wear the black pillbox hat pictured above with these combos, or expand their posibilities even further, and wear a yellow pillbox hat. I can remember when I was a kid and they would come to town to play the Cubs, (pre 1984 hatred )- and I would tune in just to see which ones they were wearing.
