I'm not saying this for White Sox purposes anymore seeing as they have already filled backup infielder roles, but a guy like Luis Rivas could be very valuable to a team in this market.
He's at least as good defensively as another free agent SS Juan Uribe, and he is definitely better defensively than Cesar Izturis, who was signed for well over $1M.
He made 500k on the Pirates last year and for a backup infielder with as phenomenal a glove as he has, I'm surprised no team has opted to take a guy like Rivas, who they wouldn't have to pay as much as a Cesar Izturis-type with near equal production.
