Hey guys. Does anybody know if this photo is from his mammoth blast in game 163? The only description I've found is "2008 home run".

Looks like the fans in the bleachers are all wearing black.

I'm trying to decide which pose to get 16x20s of for Soxfest. I can't decide between this one, and the shot of him with his arms in the air after hitting his 500th HR. If this is from game 163, I think I may end up getting it, as it has more meaning for the White Sox, whereas his 500th HR was more of a personal accomplishment.

It is from that game. I remember seeing it on Yahoo and saving it to my computer since it's such an awesome shot.

Where'd you find this as a 16x20? Everywhere I've looked only showed it as an 8x10.

That I would have to believe is a photo from the blast. If you look in the outfield there are tons of people wearing only black. Also, that is the only time all year at home he showed that kind of emotion right after a homerun. I checked the video recap for the Sox for 2008 and it is at about 3 minutes and 24 seconds that this moment occured in the video. Here is link if you would like to look: http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200812183722480.

Still one of the greatest games that I have been to. #163....one for the ages.

It is absolutely from Game No. 163.

Get whatever photo that you like best or has the most meaning to you signed. I've considered the same question myself. I'm going with a 16x20 of his 500th home run. Not only is it a more historic homer, but the shot itself is fantastic. Of course, the one from No. 163 is terrific, too. I think I'm going to try to get an 8x10 version of that signed as well. Hopefully Thome will be signing all three days of Soxfest. He has some making up to do after the past two years.

Thanks a lot guys, I knew I could count on you to get a concrete answer to something like this.

BainesHOF, it sounds like we have the same idea. I'm planning on having him sign a 16x20 of one of them (likely game 163) and then an 8x10 of the other (500th HR). I'll have my wife with me, so getting both done shouldn't be a problem.

Ragator43, I'm ordering the 16x20s from Photofile. I have a wholesale account with them. I still don't know what I'm going to do with the other 14 game 163 16x20s that I'm gonna end up with, lol.

I would be more than happy to purchase one off your hands for my ever expanding White Sox collection.

I agree it's a great photo. Too bad the Tribune had to ruin it. Clearly they've fired all the wrong people...
