I think brining in Foulke in the 9th was the best move he has made in a while. Garland gave up back to back pinch hits and Nomar was up. That is when you pull the youngster and bring in your ace. Foulke was so do for a shot at a save. JM you earned back some respect tonight.............

More importantly, he made a good call by letting Garland go to the mound to start the ninth. I fully expected the "by the book" move of bringing in Foulke to start the ninth. Then, he brought in the closer before Garland would be on the hook for the loss, should it come. After pitching a game like he did, no way should he ever get a loss.

It was fun to see a real save; Foulke coming in from the bullpen with runners on first and second and shutting the Bosox down. That's the way closers used to do it, and why they were called "firemen." They came in at the end of a game and put out the fire. Way to go, Keith.
