I migh have to book my trip for that one.

I could use a trip to Vegas after the ice storm/cold we just dealt with. It sucked walking out the door this morning to go to work when it was 7 degrees. Perhaps it's time to pop in the Sox Pride DVD or something.

I'd rather be at a poker table.

Taking a few hour break to see the Sox in Vegas has gotta be +EV.

Anybody have a sense for how hard it will be to get these tickets? I'm already seeing them offered at high markups on Craigslist, despite the fact that they're not even on sale yet.

I'm planning to go, and I'll pay $75 a pop if I have to, but I just have no clue as to whether that's a ripoff or not...

They will be VERY expensive. Last year the Cubs played there against...I forget who...and they were expensive. With it being Cubs/Sox, should be worse.

Thanks for the tip, Jab. But what exactly is "very expensive?" Should I jump at $75 tickets?

For $75 a seat, I'd expect to be between Sect 9 and 15...and in a decent row.

Everyone has to remember that these are just preseason games even though they are in vegas and it is sox vs cubs. I think anything more than $30 to $40 for a preseason game is pretty high but that's just my opinion.

Looking for an excuse to drag my girlfriend to Vegas. This game is it. So I'm considering the cost of the tickets my "girlfriend to Vegas" fee...

They went for about $50 a ticket for a seat inbetween the bases last spring vs Seattle. I can't see any way the Sox vs Cubs matchup goes for less. And I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for more.

Things are expensive here. With the 51's changing allegiances, ownership, and name they are going to be looking to rake in as much cash as possible.

Cashman is a very small park so really any seat is good. A majority of the seats down the lines are actually aluminum benches, with backs, but not comfortable. Normally no outfield seating but there's a grass hill in right that I believe they open up when the major league teams play there.

Sunday, March 1st is the Nascar race as well if anyone is really looking for an additional excuse to come to town. Early March weather is always iffy but compared to today's Chicago weather...not so bad.

Well if Nascar is coming to town, say no more....

I've never been to Vegas so this could be an excuse to go. However, soxfan21 makes a great point. $75 is awful steep for pre season split squad games. I'll wait and see what the prices shake out to. I noticed they said "tickets available at Cashman Field ticket office". Does this mean there will be no tickets available online?

HERES THE SCOOP
i called the cashman field box office, tickets are already selling to the 51's season ticket holders. they have sold 60 pct of these seats.
%15 will be allocated for ticketmaster top go onsale in feb.
they expect to sell out in 10-15min then.
tickets are only $25
however for chicago fans, they have a deal where if you buy a 12 game plan for the 51's they will alow you to buy 2 tix forr these games.
plans start at only $90 a seat, if you dont use your tix you can donate them backj to the 51's, and they will give them to children charities,
you will receive a letter from the charity, and they are tax deductable.
