I concur this is a good book. I picked it up when it was issued this past spring. I also enjoyed the bonus CD with audio highlights from Game 1 of the 1959 World Series (featuring Byrum Saam and Mel Allen doing the play-by-play).

This was one of the three books I read over the summer on the recommendation of one of my friends, and I loved it. Definitely a great read for the die-hards like us.

My gf got if for me this past spring for my bday when the authors Billy Pierce and Lew Freedman were doing a book signing downtown. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
