I was asking $400 per ticket on Stub Hub last year for the Red Sox series when they were the defending World Series champions and nobody bought.

They (the fans) were not here last year like in past years.

Good! Hopefully that'll keep some of them home.

I was at the Saturday, August 21 game against Boston that year. That picture could very well be from that game. I attached a picture I took at the game. Looks like the same stuff everywhere.

Plus, looking at Boston's lineup from that game, the size of the names on the scoreboard lineup look to match. And Varitek did lead off the top of the third in that game (it was already 5-2 Boston at that point), and Josh Stewart pitched, so I'm sure it's from that game. Varitek is about to get a double and then score on a double by Kevin Millar.

It has to be 2004 because 2003 had the ugly walls for the All Star game, and everything before that was blue.

Yep. I definitely remember Tony Catezone turning 12. To think he is driving now. Damn, they grow up fast...

From a revenue perspective, this is probably sub-optimal. You want the Red Sox in town when its not otherwise an attractive date for people to buy baseball tickets. But I guess everyone else in the AL does too.

I'm certain you're right; I was at that game too and have a scoreboard picture with Stewart's name listed as the pitcher. Freddy Garcia pitched the next day but that sure don't look like him in the picture.

Wasn't that Saturday game the infamous Estaban Loaiza bobblehead giveaway day?

Which was also Esteban Loaiza bobblehead day and the worst sunburn I've ever had in my life by sitting in Mickster's seats down the 3rd base line.

Edit- Oops, C-Dawg beat me to it.

If prices go high enough I might be selling my tickets that weekend to try and get some playoff money ready.

That's the spirit. I am going to the games to watch the scenery.

Now that I know which games I'm definitely NOT going to, it'll be easier to figure out which games I AM going to.

Thank you, Boston Red Sox, for helping me make important life decisions.
