Do you think the diamond-shaped sock patch that is on sleeve of the road greys and the black alternate jersey should be on the home whites too?

I recieved a response from Brooks about the 1959 throwbacks and I sent a reply back asking him if any thought has ever been put into putting the sleeve patch on the home whites.

Do you think the patch should be on the pinstripe jerseys? I know that this has been a much talked about subject on here.

No. I've seen folks add it after purchasing the jersey and it looks stupid.

Just my humble opinion.

I don't think that patch would look good on the home jersey, so no.

I miss the old comiskey park patch that use to be on the home whites. The diamond dock patch wouldn't look that good IMO but neither would a u s cellular field patch.

Yeah, I'd prefer to avoid a corporate name/logo on the jersey.

I agree, that idea's been mentioned here before, and I think it would look good. If you don't like the color clash, the have it in grayscale. Either way, the city flag is sweet, and would look on the jersey. I wish they had something on the sleeves.

So do I. Damn corporate namings.:(:

To answer the question, no. Some things just don't look right.

I got a respnse back from Brooks......Apparently there are no plans to add the patch to the home jerseys. That should make half of the WSIers who responded to the poll very happy.

I collect too many jerseys ... but one of things that attracts me to jerseys is patches that can establish the year it was intended for.

(i.e. Sox jersey with the WS05 patch. -- Cardinals opening day jersey in 07 -- celebrating the series win and the openign of the news stadium -- or an all star game)

I don't know how you could do this regularly w/o seeming gimmicky though. I would like a sleeve patch on the home jerseys ... doesn't have to be the diamond -- though I like that logo a lot.

.....and 16 or so who are switching to the Cubs.

I voted yes but I would rather see the chicago flag patch.

I took a no because the diamond would clash just a bit with the pinstriping.

Yeah there is someone selling knock offs on ebay with the patch on the home whites, looks kinda lame.

I say put the sock symbol on the stirrups, like the batter used to be on the red stirrups. That might look cool.

like the mets have i the we should have a pinstripeless alt. home white jersey. like the '68 unis. and a chicago flag patch!

I voted no, never did like that logo.

I love the logo, but it clashes with the pinstripes. It only belongs on the road jersey and the black jersey.

The Sox have perfect uniforms. I don't understand why people are always suggesting to tweak them by adding red or changing the road script or adding patches.

I can't remember any Sox player wearing stirrups since maybe Doug Drabek in '97.

I wouldn't mind the sock logo but would like the city flag a lot more.

I do think we need to start wearing white socks somehow. Black stirrups with white socks underneath or those socks with the fake stirrup stripe on it. I don't know about any of you guys but I think its silly we don't even wear them, its a simple thing to change.

Yeah, I'd prefer to avoid a corporate name/logo on the jersey. It is against MLB rules. That is why recent teams with new parks opening don't mention the name of the park anywhere on their sleeve patches.

GABP (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=rjrma7f8awx9ewflx9ob)
Citizen Bank (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=2065)
PacBell/SBC/ATT (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=2093)

And look at the official (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=xx8wqaaoqq67ks0361co) Busch III logo, compared to the patch (http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=6052) the Cards wore in 06.

As for the diamond sock logo, I agree that it doesn't look right on the pinstripes.

The simplicity of the Sox's uniforms has always impressed me. Like the Yankees, I applaud the solid colors and minimal embelishments that they have chosen. Don't add anything to the sleeves.
