Whenever Boone came into a game I always had flashbacks to the bomb he served up to Hafner the third game in 06.

Smell ya later, Boone.

I appreciate that Boone will not be on the Sox roster.

I remember that one game when he threw a strike. That was awesome.

I got the chance to meet him and share a few drinks during spring training in 07. he seemed like a great guy but glad he won't be with the Sox this year...

I don't know if I can take this appreciation thread seriously. Had enough trouble not laughing at the Javy appreciation thread, but this, this is too much.

Logan was the definition of wasted talent, had less of a ball sack then Javy, but in the end threw a good inning or two for the Sox.

Thanks Logan, for your impersonation of Neal Cotts.

Thanks, Boone, for keeping my hopes alive that I might one day play pro baseball. If you can, I probably could, too. :o:

Thanks for the good first half. He was a great story, coming from no where to make the team.

Sorry things fell apart a bit there towards the end.. good luck in ATL, Boone.

My favorite Boone Logan moment was the fact that he was part of the introductions to begin '06. That game was incredible to attend, and he was a part of it.

Other than that, I'd rather have Mike "three yards and a cloud of grand slams" Jackson in my bullpen.

Well, I think he was rushed by a large portion. he had a great first half in '08 and I'd be willing to bet he does quite well in Atlanta.

Boone Logan blew my mind when he told Joe Cowley, in early 2007, that he had had "a mental breakdown" the year before from just being in the big leagues.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070302&content_id=1824066&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=cws

From that moment on, I had not one shred of faith in Logan. None of the nonsense this year surprised me; I was only surprised that it took so long to happen -- Ozzie calling him out, saying that his body language was pretty much that of a loser; the club sending Logan to Charlotte; and the club, once he was recalled, leaving Logan off the post-season roster.

Best of luck, Boone. I strongly suspect that you are not MLB material, mentally or emotionally.

I said to my friend after we heard about the trade, "The Sox just got a whole lot less pretty."

On a different note, I like this trade and I have this feeling it's leading to something major. I didn't think we'd be able to move Logan. I just hope it doesn't occur the night before my big English final or anything.

I'm thinking we should have started this thread after the trade was official and the Braves cannot back out once they lurk this thread.

When I was in Great Falls two years ago at Christmastime, the employees I met from the Great Falls White Sox told me that they really liked Boone and Brandon McCarthy.

The mere mention of the name "Brian Anderson," on the other hand........

I sent 2 baseball cards to the 'Cell C/O Boone Logan, and he signed and returned them. Plus, I remember listening to Coop at the Cork on a Sunday Night and Boone was there. He started talking to Rongey on the radio, and he sounded HAMMERED. Made for some good radio.

So..........thanks!

I remember in 2006 when he was called up and I was sitting right by the bullpen before the game. Bobby Jenks and Boone Logan were hanging out in the bullpen and all the fans were trying to get Bobby's attention. So I decided to give Boone some love and yelled "We love you Boone Logan!"

He turned around and looked at me really confused.

Peace out Boone.

ha ha ha. I just don't know what to say. I'll let the little smiley's do all the talking for me.

sometimes I was  at you

once in a while I would :whiner: because of one of your performances

your presence in some ballgames made me wanna :gah: or even :puking:

One thing is for certain, your departure from the team during the playoffs show just what kind of player you were, even why you had the option of being on the bench, so I wanted to :club: on you.

So good ridance to rubish, and nothing says how I feel to one of last pieces of the 2007 nightmare than :supernana:, and thank God you're gone at long last.

...and then there was that time that Ozzie went to the bullpen to grab Boone to face the lefty-hitting Daryl Ward. Life was good...for a moment. Then Sweet Lou countered with righty-swinging Derrek Lee off the bench, who came in and promptly hit an opposite-field grand slam to sound the horns at the Shrine.

We need you in 105. A couple of years ago we had one of our WSI group outings in 105. We were playing the A's. Huston Street warmed up to come in the game and we were heckling him. As he was walking through the gate to go to the mound with the Sox down by, IIRC, one or two runs, our own Chisoxmike yelled at him "Go get 'em Sesame Street!" Street turned around and gave Mike a dirty look. He then proceeded to blow the game for the A's.:D:

Mike was the PTC winner that night!!!
