I love what Kenny is apparently doing:

Dye for Homer Bailey and Ryan Freel.

Vazquez for Ryan Church and Aaron Heilman.

Konerko for Figgins and Weaver.

Jenks for FMart and ?

I realize that these are just rumors. But, the idea of trading each of these players right now, at this point in their careers, makes a lot of sense.

And, getting back 2-3 players for each with atleast one being a good young pitcher/prospect is a great idea.

I would actually love to see Kenny very patiently move all 4 of these guys. I think that after most of the top tier FA's are gone there will be a great deal of interest in all of these guys. The Sox could truly load up, become young, save a ton of money, get faster and better all on the fly. They could still win the division and beyond in 2009.

Augment that with the Cuban connection and Dayan signing, recent draft picks, new regime in development and additional draft picks and the Sox could be set as well as any team for the future.

I'm very excited and I hope that is truly Kenny's plan.

I can not wait until people stop referring to Alexei and Dayan as their nationality.

And I bet none of these moves you have up happen.

Sounds like a great plan. Church, Figgins and Freel are all over 30 and coming off injuries. Heilman and Bailey can't get NL hitters out. These moves would be genius.

Out of Javy, Dye, Jenks, Konerko....I bet at least 2 if not 3 of these four will not be traded...

I can see Dye being traded. It has the highest chance of success and return on value. Javy, I would like to see gone but I do not see it happening. Too many other pitchers are out there that are similar in numbers based off last season and could be had for a little more money, but do not having to give up anything in return. Konerko, is also probably a no. Unless Kenny really takes something of significantly less value for him in a pure salary dump. Jenks also is a no. Closers are a great thing to have but for what Kenny will be asking I think the market is still too cheap on trades to see him get what he wants.

Do you not trust Kenny Williams to make the right decision? If he decided to trade 2, 3, or even all four of those guys, I would assume that he knows what he is doing and is making the team better. Or do you think you know more than Kenny?

This is what I hate about Sox fans. They always think they know better than the guys running things.

As for Freel being the "extra player" in the Dye for Bailey deal, that may not be too far off.

We may need to add a minor-leaguer into the mix, but I'd welcome that deal much more than Dye for Bailey and some Reds class A prospect, which has little chance to help us next year.

It's the same on all sports teams' message boards.
