Beltran is an ex royal and I wouldn't mind see him playing on the south side...

Also Dye hasn't done to bad in a Sox uniform.. :)

Fluke year. Signing him would have been a mistake.

He would have been a decent signing. The terms weren't much and he was solid away from home last season.

That's an awfully small sample size when compared to his career of being ****ty.

It would have been a decent risk. It's a small sample size, but he wasn't bad the year before. This would have been the year to splurge on relievers, as it's definitely a buyer's market.

Since the Rockies made him a fulltime reliever two years ago he's been pretty solid and durable. Solid ERA in 2007 and 2008 and he pitched 78-some innings last year and was near the top of the league in appearances (pitching for Dusty Baker, no surprise). I would take him to be our second lefty for 2 years $8 million which is close to what the deal is rumored to be. He couldn't be worse than Horacio Ramirez, Logan, Mike Myers, or whoever else we've had besides Thornton the last two years.
