Saw this on Rotoworld (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=MLB&line=252001) earlier this evening: "According to the Chicago Tribune, the White Sox are "scrutinizing prospects for" a potential Jermaine Dye trade.
The 35-year-old Dye has limited no-trade rights, but the newspaper notes that general manager Ken Williams 'has a short list of teams for his right fielder' that may include the Mets."

Sounds good to me! We wouldn't have to take Castillo off their hands because Dye has value so maybe start with Daniel Murphy, Heilman, and some pitching prospects? I'm totally speculating on my own, I have no idea who they're willing to move at this point, but I would definitely like to get something for Dye while his value is high. Any chance Kenny could package Dye and Vazquez together? Their rotation is pretty thin beyond Johan and Pelfrey.

I think 1/6 of the OF was traded today.

Swisher was the 6th man on the list (Griffey, Wise, and Anderson ahead of him).

Griffey? Are you serious?

Where you not watching the game in August and September?

Yes Griffey. Griffey was starting almost every night in CF over Swisher.

Do you realize he is not on the team anymore?

I meant 1/3 of the 2008 opening day outfield, lol. I know we have (or had) more outfielders than that this year but I'm thinking with Griff all ready gone and Wise/Anderson probably sticking around then Swish and Dye were the most likely to go. TCQ is untouchable at this point.

Swisher wasn't on the team in 2007, lol.

Ive said the same thing about the trading with the Mets. They are most likely borderline desperate at this point after horrible collapses the past 2 years and will probably over pay to fill their needs. A package of Murphy, Niese, and Heilman could help our team a lot. Hell i'll even take Castillo off of their hands as long as they pick up a chunk of his salary till its done. He cant be much worse than what we got at 2B now.

Wise? Didn't we release him?

If we trade Dye that'll leave us with Quentin and nobody. I think trading Dye before today was a possibility, but now, not so much.

I wouldn't be so sure. Dye has probably the highest trade value right now, and the Sox still need to go out and get a CF.

Maybe the Sox could still be interested in trading Jermaine Dye. They can replace him with Milton Bradley. Maybe sign Milton Bradley to a 2 year 16mil contract with performance bonuses.

Probably not a good idea. Bradley would kick the **** out of Ozzie when he made another of his dumbass moves. Or Ozzie would get his ass kicked when Bradley made one of his dumbass moves.....

I have a feeling that KW will trade several key players like Dye, Konerko and Vazquez for younger players & prospects...

they want a team a lot like the Twins and Rays have...

I'd be pretty shocked if Konerko got traded now. Part of the reason why Swisher was traded is because Konerko has little or no trade value coming off his season. I'm sure Kenny called around for interest, and it wasn't there---and it was probably only to a few clubs that Konerko would actually waive his 10/5.
