But they just had the ASG in '99. There are 30 teams. Why would they get it again after only 13 years?

New ownership.....Fenway turns 100 in 2012 ( sort of )

We heard last winter was that was the deal...Boston goes to Japan, they would get the 2012 game.

BTW Fenway was REBUILT in 1934 after the park burnt down

I wouldn't be that upset if it does end up at Fenway again. I like when there is more meaning to it. If it is Fenway's 100th Birthday then it adds a bit more to the game. It was cool to have it in 2003 and I would expect we should get it in 2013?

That would be so lame if Boston got the ASG in 2012, considering that they just had it in 1999. It should either go to Kansas City or Minnesota, IMHO.

Minnesota will be playing their third year in a new stadium, so I'd agree on that. Boston should have to wait at least another decade.

Pirates got the ASG after only 12 years (1994 to 2006). Some teams, for whatever reason, don't want to host it, so there never truly is a field of 30 teams vying to host it.

That's odd, since Bud promised the Royals the ASG by 2012 after the tax payers of KC approved to fund the remodel. 2010 is already in Cali and 2011 is in the NL. Bud sucks and if he gives this game to Boston then he's as bad as ESPN in only promoting a couple of teams.

The Bucs at least had a new stadium, though.

Fens:

The article says the lower bowl seats were all removed for repairs and waterproofing on the concrete and surfaces(which, for a stadium that old, is not a 1/2 bad idea). Any word on whether they're replacing with new seats or reinstalling the old?

EDIT: I read the next two lines....coffee's not kicked in yet.
