just a stat question: what does WHIP mean for pitchers? also, what does OPS mean for batters? Maybe I'm just a moron but I don't know those and neither do some of my baseball watching/playing friends.

WHIP----> Walks + Hits/Innings pitched
OPS-----> OBP + SLP (on-base + slugging)

Last night in Kris Honel threw 7 innings no walks, no earned runs, 6 strike outs, honel now has an era of 2.08
