Daktronics really does do the best, but our White Way board isn't all that bad considering.

One Chicago park will never have one.

 Do you realize you just opened Pandora's Box for everyone to complain (again) about our scoreboard situation?

Oh well, here it comes...

We've already complained about the upper deck, blue seats, lack of bars and/or restaurants, and not winning the World Series since 1917.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Even the budget Daktronics boards are top notch. The board at AAA Pawtucket is high quality.

The new board at Kansas City is simply stunnng.

That's because it's historic.

Plus, it's distracting. We don't need a scoreboard to tell us what to do! We're not like those Sox fans who never pay attention to the game and need Gene Hondo to tell them to make some noise. We make our own damn noise by getting drunk and calling people on cell phones to check if we're on TV.

Yes, but you forgot to mention that the Twins scoreboard will have thousands of little tiny embedded fans which will blow "in" when the opposing team is batting, and will reverse when the Twins are at the plate.

That's true. White Way is probably far behind when it comes to that sort of technology

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

But, all that complaining has brought about some changes.

We should start complaining again about a World Series drought.

Considering what? What I find unacceptable is that the main board has little or no actual game information and the low-tech aux board in LF that has all the game info is obstructed from view at many seats down the 3B line.

Our scoreboard situation is horrendous, especially given our team's history and tradition of being on the cutting edge of scoreboards. We complain because we have a just complaint.

I heard the out of town board will be updated for 2009.

The scoreboard at The Cell is compromised by the ad panels.

I think the biggest issue is not being able to see the matrix board clearly from the third base side since Fundamentals was built.

The out of town board was cutting edge in 1991 and was updated with radio signals that went to beepers but that system was abandoned 6 years ago.

The Yankees had the same issues with ad panels.

JR will stay loyal to White Way as they are based in Mt Prospect but Daktronics is picking up a ton of former White Way clients..for example the arena in Boston.

As a cosmetic thing I would add to the ballpark, I wish we could install a strobe ligtht system underneath the entire upper deck overhang (roof), something like what they have at Comerica. That looks real nice in between innings and during non playing time (like post game, pre game, fireworks, etc).

Even poor Harvard University was able to afford a Daktronics board

I know calling Harvard "poor" is tongue in cheek since they have an endowment the size of some small countries, but as an Ivy League school their athletic budget is relatively small compared to other D1 schools or a professional sports team. If they can afford a nice scoreboard, I'd say its time for the Sox to get on board.

Just out of curiosity, what makes that Harvard board so much "nicer" than the one at the Cell?

Agreed, that thing looks like ass, I don't care who made it.

Twins release what new board will look like

The solution for The Cell is to combine the video and matrix board into one stand alone unit.

I like the board at The Trop
