It's a Holden Caulfield flip-down ear flap hat. Kind of like a hunting cap.

I saw a Sox cap like it in Lids, I almost bought it but then I realized how ugly it was. It's supposed to keep your ears warm. I saw Rollins sporting one too.

Looks like they might be attached, so MLB had to approve them. I'd get one if I wore hats.

any pics? I dont see it anywhere. the only pic/video i can find of Maddon last night is of the blown call in the 1st, and he has a normal hat on

I saw these on the MLB site earlier this summer. I would have picked one up but they only had them in size small or medium and nowhere else had them in large either.

As a player I'd wear one...as a fan I prefer the stocking cap
