I picked the Rays just because I want them to win. I'm probably wrong, though...

If (when) the Red Sox win tomorrow, why even play a World Series? We know who's going to win it. Seriously.

Stick a fork in the Rays, they're done.:(: Up 7-0 and nine outs to go to the pennant. Un-****ing-believable.

Well, if there is such a thing as momentum in baseball, the Red Sox have that now, and they'll have the better starting pitcher tomorrow too. We'll see, but, I think the Rays are in a state of shell shock.

This is kind of funny. The Rays were riding high and now suddenly they're in survival mode. The BoSox have the momentum but the Rays have home-field advantage. No doubt it will be a good game tomorrow.

In what way is it funny to someone who hates the Sawx?

Epic meltdowns by teams that are within an eyelash of winning a championship aren't funny? The Rays had champagne on ice on Thursday night. They had a swagger with three innings left to go. Now they have a chance to utterly let victory slip through their fingers.

As long as it is not happening to the White Sox, I can appreciate the historical and comical value of a choke-job like we're seeing, irregardless of who the opponent is.

viagracat

Boston has been there and done that already. The Rays haven't. If it comes down to a close game in the late innings, that will decide it.

tstrike2000
10-19-2008, 09:21 AM
The Rays will strike early, Boston makes a slight charge but Maddon doesn't make the same bullpen mistakes he did in Game 5, and the Rays win 5-3.

I think the Red Sox will win this one.:(: I hope I'm wrong, too.

Seven times in LCS history has a team come back from at least a 3-1 defecit to force Game 7. The 1992 Pirates were the only ones that did not win Game 7. They wound up losing in a heartbreaking 9th inning rally against the Braves.

It's not looking good, but here's to hoping that the 2008 Red Sox join the '92 Pirates.:gulp:

The difference between the '08 Red Sox and '92 Pirates is that the Red Sox have already shed their douche-bag left fielder, though like his counterpart, he went to the West Coast.

Congrats Tampa, **** off Boston I hate you and every team in that state. This has been a good year, first the Giants over the Pats and now the Rays over the Sawx.

Whatever. Go Rays!

Rays in 6.Hmmm.... I suspect your streak, like Boston's, may soon be over. I don't think the Phillies will win one game. But, we shall see.

Well, if there is such a thing as momentum in baseball, the Red Sox have that now, and they'll have the better starting pitcher tomorrow too. We'll see, but, I think the Rays are in a state of shell shock.
My predictions seem to get worse every day, maybe I can get a job as the Trib's head baseball writer??
