They actually have a Cubs DVD set. It's a "great games" set.

Volume 1? I thought they'd be on about 100 by now.

That's seriously hilarious. They usually put these out for WS champs, but the Scrubs get "Legends" and "Great games". Wonder if it includes a virtual tour of The Urinal.

Unlike the DVD, that is epically awesome.

It's all about the $$$.

They've probably sold millions of copies already.

I've seen it before. Nothing to sneeze about. I fail to see the significance of the Derrek Lee game on there though.

Didn't they have a movie crew follow them all season this year?

Well, I did hear something about a sequel to "Disaster Movie".

The Cubs gave up when they ran out of film. That must be it! :D:

As sad is it is, I bet it out-sells our WS DVD collection.

Yes, they did. A documentary film crew, because (all together now) - "This was going to be the year", and they wanted to capture the "magic" of the whole season, start to finish.

I can't wait to see it. I wonder how it ends ?

The sheer arrogance of the Cubs fanbase with this type of bull**** this season is exactly why they deserved to lose once again. What kind of fans EVER say "this is the year" and mean it after a century of futility? *******s, that's who.

The Cubs have been re-enacting the Titantic before the Titantic even set sail.

Not only that, but they were so sure it was their year mainly because it was the 100th anniversary of the last championship. Yes, that's right, there's an arbitrary, nice, round number a team as special as the Cubs must wait before winning. In this case, the perfect 100 year mark would be when they broke the "curse", fate would smile on them, God would hear the prayers of all those Cubs fans, holy water from a Greek Orthodox priest would exorcise the demons of failure and give them special magical baseball powers, and nirvana would ensue. The Cubs would win the Series mostly because it would come at the 100 year mark.

How ironic that when they filmed "Fever Pitch", it was actually scripted for the Sawx to lose, and they went and screwed up that ending. These people are filming like the Scrubs are going to win it all, and they get swept in NLDS. There was a guy who filmed a documentary in 2003 as well, and it ended up in glorious disaster as we all know. I think he ended up putting out a film about the years of futility.

Does this mean that they will all shut up until it reaches 200 years??

Haha. This reminds me of when Dan Shaunessy (sp) of the Boston Globe had that book waiting to go on the 19-0 Patriots perfect season. It was on presale at Amazon and people were tagging it with "fiction" and "hubris" even before the Super Bowl.

Of course they'll make a ton of money off this because the Cub sheep will buy it. But I guess if you really think about it, what the hell else do they have of their team to buy?

They truly are. Only the Leafs could go winless and still sell out every single game. And, before anyone complains about ticket prices here in Chicago for any of our teams, Standing Room Leafs tickets in Toronto cost $45...STANDING ROOM!

Let me get this straight....there is a "great games legends collectors edition" DVD for a team that hasn't even made it to the World Series in the television era?

Even without the World Series, it's not like the Cubs have had a ton of meaningful competitive seasons in the last 65 years. You gotta love their perpetual hype machine.

This coming from a season ticket holder of a team on a longer Stanley Cup drought than the Leafs.

When you have a fan- base of idiots, that will literally eat anything Cubs corp ****s out, it is best for someone else to make money off of them. Even if it is something as pathetic as this.

I just want someone to document 100 years of futility on the north side, that would be the greatest video ever produced.

This DVD set has been out for awhile. As much as I loathe Flubbie-Nation, there is one game in that package that deserves to be on DVD and mass-distributed: the '84 Saturday afternoon game when Sandberg took Bruce Sutter out twice, once in the 9th and then in his next at-bat in extra innings (during Sutter's prime too).
