Of Cancer. My sister knows his brother. From all accounts he seemed like a good guy.

I added the guy's name to the title so people know who it is.

I'm friends with his brother and sister-in-law. This is very sad.

I remember when he pitched for the Cubs, my grandfather really liked him. 39 is far too young to go. RIP.

'97, the first game that was played. If I recall correctly Mr. Navarro got the nod in that one and gave up something like 8 runs. '98 was at Wrigley and we got hosed on Maggs double that went into the ivy and then Brant Brown of all people hit a walk off. But we had our revenge the next year when we swept 'em in Wrigley and sent them into a tail spin.

I remember thinking 1998 was going to be his breakout year, then he went down early in the season.

IIRC, didn't he catch a ton of flack for being criticism when Mickey Mantle was able to get a donor liver quickly after anouncing he needed a new one, while his father died waiting for one?

I don't remember that, but I'd probably side with him in that case, anyway.
