Hey everyone,

I just came across this video and I thought I'd share it with all of you. It's a clip of Greg Luzinski tying a game in the bottom of the 9th.

Enjoy!

Great clip, but who on EARTH is the color commentator? He sounds like he's drunk or something! It can't be Harry Caray.

Oh ok thanks lol. Just from the little bit I heard from him, he didn't sound like he was all that good of an announcer.

You know, say what you want about the 80s, but man do I love those uniforms. Oakland's green and yellow contrasting the Sox white/red/blue...just looks so awesome.

Great find!

I thought the Sox helmets had white one front, just like the caps.

Helmets were blue with red bills for both home and road uniforms.

The play-by-play sounded like Joe McConnell. Was he still doing Sox games in '83?

He was definintely with the Sox, but what has me confused is why he and Early Wynn are doing tv here. I remember them exclusively as the radio team in 1983 with Drysdale and Hawk doing tv (both Ch 32 and Sportsvision). Maybe Lip can straighten this out.

In the video game MVP '05 the Sox were portrayed with having a helmet with a white front...which I think would have looked a lot better!

Great find btw, sadly I think it will be pulled shortly.

That's how I remember it too. After Harry and Jimmy, I remember Hawk and Drysdale on T.V., and a few different people on the radio - Lorne Brown, Wynn, Del Crandal (sp ?), and a woman, but I can't remember her name. Outside of Brown, even as a little kid, I didn't think any of the other ones on the radio were very good.

Huge blast.

Favorite parts from this video:

Wynn advertising the NASL game after the Sox game.

Paciorek's batting stance....What happened to batters hitting like that?

Here's another 'vintage' video, with Ventura and our ballpark in all it's new glory. I forgot how ugly it originally looked.

You are correct. That is Dan Jiggets. I believe he was working for the Score in those days if I'm not mistaken.
