must be the tickets they held back in case anyone joined the playoff payoff

and once again some of those tickets are better than the ones I got from my season plan

It's tempting to buy Monday's game since I already have Sunday, but this is becoming a very expensive month.

Thanks. The first 5 times I tried it was obstructed view. My last try went from 516 with obstructed view to 526 with full view. I bought them, but almost choked because I have forgot my ticketmaster password. So I had to use my girlfriend's account, and change the credit card to mine. I barely made it.

When I went Tuesday for game 163, all the lots were full. So I drove and parked on Pershing just passed Ashland, and took a taxi to the stadium for $8, so $16 round trip is definitely worth it.

Why did the White Sox decide to do the lottery system this year? Are all 8 teams doing this? If it doesn't sell out tomorrow, everyone will be shocked. And if it's looking like it won't, the front office needs to inform the local news immediately so that the word can get out. Everyone just assumes it's sold out.

Yeah it was handled pretty poorly. I called Ticketmaster this morning so I could actually talk to someone and they could tell me what was available, instead of their site telling me what "best available" they had. Most of the time, those aren't really the best available.

The guy on the phone said the tickets going on sale is still TBA, and couldn't even sell me any over the phone. I told him the game is tomorrow and when do they plan on putting them up for sale, and he said he didn't know.

Ridiculous. A Blackout isn't really a blackout if it's only 22,000 fans

The Sox had a promotion called the playoff payoff (or something like that) where if you sign up for a season package next season you will get guranteed seats for this year's play offs. The anounced yesterday via e-mail that the promontion package now goes effective for ALCS tickets only. Which means that they are no longer handing out ALDS tickets with new season ticket orders. So now they have to give up whatever seats they held back.

People signed up for the lottery on whitesox.com. They picked some percentage of people, and those people got to buy 4 tickets each. I don't see what's so confusing about it. The tickets people got in the lottery were not very good tickets, so I highly doubt these tickets are tickets those people didn't buy.

Nobody should complain. Here's the deal...

If the Sox announced tickets were put back on sale, they'd be gone immediately. By not announcing tickets are now available, they're rewarding people who want them bad enough to keep checking Ticketmaster, and those die-hard fans like the ones on this site who have been given the heads-up by other die-hards.

The Sox know exactly what they're doing. Be thankful.

Completely agree. Better then scalpers and brokers getting tickets and just jacking up the price. I love the idea of not telling many people. And for some reason I believe the person that posted this thread is inside the organization considering the same type of post got posted at other White Sox message boards. Just a hunch.

Completely agree.

The White Sox have their Internet Owls looking over which places to market their product. Message Boards like these is the best place to quietly market their product and it doesn't cost them a dime and it allows them to sell to the true die hard fans and not the corporate suits.

Scalpers hound those ticketmaster sites too, they're not stupid. I just don't get the logic of the Sox here. Your season ticket holders and people who "won" the lottery get the seats that no one wants, while you hold back some of the best seats in the park that might only be available for some May series vs Seattle (got UD behind home plate 1st row last night). Meanwhile, tickets still seem pretty easily available and the game isn't too far away...

Is there a limit to the amount of tickets you can buy? I don't see anything mentioned on the order screen. I know you can only order 4 at a time but what about going back in and putting in another order for 2 or 4 more tickets in addition to the first 2 or 4?

It also looks like only UD corners are left.

I think it's gone back and forth. In 2000, I think I got a full credit for unused ALCS tix, but in 2003 I only received a credit for the face value of the ALDS ticket that the Sox choked away in Minnesota.

This kinda ticks me off a bit. Seems like some of the people that purchased tickets today got better tickets then I received with my 27 game Season Ticket Package. Just checked myself, and was able to purchase tickets for Mondays game that are better then mine as well. Disappointed that the Sox were holding tickets to reward new Season tickets holders for 2009season, then rewarding someone, like myself, that purchased my season tickets last December.

I still be there, decked out in black, cheering them on, Sunday & monday, hoping that I'll be able to use my ALCS tickets.

I've been a season ticket holder for four years now and have a worse seat than a bunch of these tickets that were put on sale too; but, it's still not as bad as what my friend who sits next to me during the season was put through. He has 3 seats in his account (we're in 149 regularly), and he was put in the upper deck for the ALDS! Face value for each seat he purchased was just $5 less than my lower deck ticket!

 Who the hell is crying? I missed out on presales and didn't get picked for the lottery and now have tickets. I'm just saying (even though I had checked again early Friday and had decided to give up then), scalpers are a lot more known to save these pages and refresh them. So are you not enough of a "die hard" since you wouldn't have seen this if it wasn't for psyclonis? A good fan who doesn't randomly check or doesn't go on an internet message board for their late Friday night/Saturday, which might've been you, might be the one bitching or 'crying' if finding out about it after the fact.

I just found it weird lotto people got Row 18-20 Upper Deck Reserved, season ticket holders got worse seats for their playoff tickets, and they held these back, nothing more nothing less EDIT: And jamiebd above and the other ST holders who were saying that got worse a couple weeks ago are the prime example. Who's more diehard then a season ticket holder?

Well, I know that I would be a little ticked if I had full season tickets and got crappy seats for the game today - I would be comfy in that I actually had seats. I think the number of seats released today was minimal.

I bought two tickets today in section 160, 10th row. That was around noon, and I was surprised they were available. The only reason I looked was the post on this site. There were not many left after that point, at least in pairs, as I had to grab one at a time for many of my friends.

I was getting nothing trying to get 2 at a time, so we ended up with a lot of single tickets spread out all over the park. My buddies dont care - they are happy to be there - and you can always make friends with a Sox fan sitting next to you, right?

I do think that the sox should accommodate long time season ticket holders with the best seats, but what do you do with the odd seat here or there - you have to sell it. I got tickets today for one seat, on the end of an aisle, on the baseline - how do you fill that seat otherwise?

As of right now the only tickets available are back on stubhub.

Hopefully they throw out the standing room tickets tomorrow again. I did that for the blackout game and it was a blast. :)
