I know, no attendance threads, but this stat is amazing if true. Gammons said last night our record with at least 30,000 fans is something like 28-2! I'm not sure where you would find that statistic. However for anyone who doesn't think players feed off the electricity a packed house can generate that stat should end that belief cause they clearly do!

It may seem like it this season more than any other. So many teams have a very poor road record.

We only have 30 games of 30k+ attendance?

That's a bit sad.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I believe he was saying that about Tampa Bay. He was saying that mostly since the 2 games in Tampa are already sold out. So we have a tough haul ahead of us.

Are you sure that wasn't for the Rays? I'm pretty sure I heard that stat a couple days ago in reference to Tampa Bay.

If true, ok. But I can't picture Tampa having that many games with 30,000.

I counted 22 from this season.

Seems to me he was talking about the Rays. This year they were like 9-0 when they had post-game concerts (obviously these brought out lots of people to the stadium).

2,500,648 (5th overall in the AL) is an AVERAGE of 30,496 per game with 43 of our 82 home games having over 30K.

That's decent when you think about spring baseball in Chicago...

Umm...this is getting ridiculous. People are treating the Tampa numbers like they were our numbers. Gammons was talking about Tampa, not the White Sox having 30 games with 30k+ people.

I know the stadium there was built for the White Sox, but come on....

Moved to Talking Baseball since this is not about the White Sox after all (don't be surprised if it's even locked down because it was an incorrect premise which started it)......

yesterday's game helped us make up for the 1 lost gate we had in that Detroit Series (doubleheader).

Making it right above 2.5 million was nice to see.

Our attendance this year was worse than last year's by 100,000. :whiner:

I guess you can blame the bad economy.
