Since it has been 25 years since the Winning Ugly team of 83, any member of the 83 team would be a good choice.

I would like to put the coin flip stuff to rest.

Bringing it up every time it's almost like us admitting that was our only chance to win this thing.

Based on the season series results, I'd like to think it greatly increased our odds.

If they judged it on a season series = bad.
If they won the coin flip = bad.

With the way we been playing, hosting that game was the ONLY shot we had. So no, it won't go to rest. That was ****ing huge for us.

This is simple for any Sox fan that was listening to the radio from the Illinois General Assembly 20 years ago.

Jim Thompson should absolutely be throwing out the first pitch against the Tampa Bay Rays, whose stadium was built for the St Peterburg White Sox.

I'm pretty sure Brooks Boyer said neither McCain or Obama will be throwing out pitches at the Cell until the election is over.

That being said, it should TCQ that throws out the first pitch.

Thigpen is a good idea, but I'd give Carlos Quentin some props for his role. He was the MVP of this squad, let him start it off, if he can throw, of course!

It should be Carlton Fisk since he was just welcomed back to the team this year. What a way it would be for him to top his first year back with us with that.

RockJock07

It was in teal Mr. Newbie.

Another reason why Teal should be phased out.

I would pick DJ to throw out the first pitch, only because it's the right thing to do for a guy that has done a good job for this organizaton. I think it would be a great gesture to him and his family.

What if the other sox get him to throw out a pitch?

I say we get Frank to throw it out. He needs to be pulled back to the Cell.

Darrin Jackson.

TBQH, if it was Jackson, I wouldn't have a problem. I didn't think Jackson is that bad an announcer but he definitely does get dwarfed by Hawk (who I used to love but sometimes he just sounds like he's going slightly senile with his rants).

But I do think that TCQ should do it. If he wasn't on the team this year, we would not even be thinking about the playoffs. Or... and I hate to say it, Crede. It seems like Crede is gone from here and he has brought us a lot of nice memories, so this would be a nice way to send him out in style.

To tell you the truth I think this is a great pick! Jake Hahn (son of assistant GM Rick Hahn)
Jake called "heads" when his father was asked by the sox to make the call for the coin toss a few weeks ago to determine where the 163 game would be played. Here is the press release:
