Sabathia wins game 2 in Philly and that's all Milwaukee gets. Phillies win in 4.

Sabathia and Sheets, Myers and Hamels.

I'm really looking forward to this series.

I have zero faith in the Brewers bullpen, so unless all the games are CG, I'm taking the Phils in 5.

I agree on Gallardo and Sabathia.

I then predict the Crew will **** the bed in the next 3, and the Phils move on.

I predicted Phils in 5, but won't be surprised if they do it in 4. I like the Brewers, but they have no bullpen.

My thoughts exactly.

Phillies are stronger in the bullpen. Howard, Utley, Burrell, and Rollins are the kind of players that live for October. It's been awhile since an NL team has that many clutch players in one lineup.

Phillies in 4.

Is Sheets healthy?

Is Sheets healthy?

Sheets is not healthy, he will not pitch in this series, and may not pitch in the playoffs. That changes things and in my opinion gives the Phils a greater edge.

Mike Cameron misplays a ball in CF [although it was a tough running catch]. 2-0 Philly.

I just saw that. It was ruled a double for Utley. I can only use Gameday at work...:(:

What a job by Hamels. He's got some electric stuff. Hopefully Danks and Richard can develop the changeup as a strikeout pitch like Hamels or Santana.

Raining pretty hard, Braun doubles, Utley slips on the relay scoring Ray Durham. 3-1, 1 out, Braun on 2nd and Prince Fielder up to bat.

That ball was misplayed by Cameron, he took a awful angle, the defense in that inning killed this game for them. Phillies looked really good today.

Phillies sweep this thing. For all that has happened to Brad Lidge in the post-season was nasty, that slider, when on, is sick.

At most, the Brew Crew can get Game 3 or the CC game. Otherwise, they just don't have enough pitching.

I see that CC is scheduled to start today's game. If I recall correctly, this would be the 4th straight start on 3 days rest for him. I guess the Brewers want to get their money's worth.:o:

Phils win 5-2, and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series.

I think this will end up being a sweep. The Brewers seem to be more satisfied in just making it to the playoffs, instead of actually trying to do damage there. Then again, after missing the playoffs for 26 years, who could blame them?

SoxSpeed22
10-02-2008, 08:19 PM
The Fighting Phills put up a 5 spot in the 2nd and that was all it took. Riding Sabathia's arm this long is finally biting the Brewers in the ass. But it's not Sabathia's fault that the Brewers scored 3 runs in 2 games in a launching pad. This should end in 3.

After watching the Brewers play at home today and the intensity of the fans, I just noticed how important it really is to play at home. Unless you're the Cubs and Angels this year, HFA has meant a whole lot. That gives me a lot of confidence that the Sox can come back these next two days and get a couple of wins or at least hit better.

Whitesoxfan23
10-04-2008, 07:27 PM
If the Sox can somehow win these next 2 games, the Rays may panic, and the Sox can steal game 5. I hope.

Nothing has fundamentally changed in this series.

A series hasn't truly gotten "interesting" until a road team wins a game.

The Phillies were expected to win at home. The Brewers were expected to win at home. Nothing has changed.

The only reason I thought Philly would get it done is because Moyer had real good road numbers and I never count out the Phil offense

CC was used as a pinch hitter which was interesting. I like that strategy he's a decent hitter and you don't burn a position player.

This will be the fourth time the Phillies have squared off against the Dodgers in the NLCS, with the other three times being 1977, 1978, and 1983. The Dodgers won the first two, and the Phils took the NL crown in 1983.

I think this will be a fun series to watch.
