I don't know, it is just considered a regular season game.

I hope Doug Eddings is in the house, though. Good things always happen when he's around. :bandance:

Are there extra umpires for this game?

Last year, Major League Baseball assigned two extra umpires to work the playoff between the Rockies and the Padres.

Do they still have extra umpires even though they now have instant replay?

As long as Hunter Wendlestad isn't part of the crew working this.

My list of umps I do not want to see working home plate:

Phil Cuzzi
Wendelstat
Iasonga
That guy working 3rd base vs the twins who called the checked swing strikes on Swish and Thome
Guy that blew the first base call vs the Indians
Culpa
Winters.

Keep these guys away from Soxpark tonite,MLB.

Yeah, hopefully MLB sends quality umps for such an important game.

Is there any news or anyway to find out if that ump was reprimanded for his a) bad call on Swish and b) how he mocked Swish by throwing his arms in the air and then telling Swish to go away?

I thought that was awful, especially on what clearly was shown as the incorrect call. I know umps make bad calls, part of the game, but they should simply sit there and not retaliate to a player questioning it from 150 feet away.
