IF we win tonight, what time WOULD the game be on Thursday in TB?

Let's worry about tonight first.

I honestly don't know if the Sox have enough left to win tonight. Mostly I'm concerned with how much Danks has in him tonight. The Sox should be able to do something with Blackburn in Chicago, but weather will make it a pitcher's night. That figures to benefit the better-rested Twins' pitchers.

Of course, I believe the Sox can win.

If the Sox do prevail tonight, I think Thursday's starter would be a no-brainer. The starter for Game 1 would come back to start Game 5 (on four days' rest) if the series goes the limit.

This thread is an extremely bad idea.
Let's beat the twins first.

Well, neither do I, but I wasn't sure they had enough left for yesterday either. I think it will be a high-scoring game. It'll come down to *shudder* relief pitching.

I'm hoping Danks gives us at least 5, giving up 2 or 3 runs.

Well, it also will be dependent on how the game goes. If it's an extra innings game, we might have to use Buehrle for a couple of innings. If they do win, Javy may end up starting Game 1 by default.

lol wow, some of you are beyond superstitious. calm down.

i would do the following...
game 1 - javier vazquez
game 2 - mark buehrle on regular rest
game 3 - gavin floyd
game 4 - john danks
game 5 - mark buehrle on 3 days rest (or javy if he pitched well in game 1)

Javy with a real short leash.

Pending win tonight:

10/2--Vazquez
10/3--Buehrle
10/4
10/5--Floyd
10/6--Danks
10/7
10/8--Buehrle

Focus on today's game. This poll exudes arrogance, plain and simple.

I didn't mean to sound negative. And, of course, you're right. Because there is no tomorrow, as the cliche goes, who would start Thursday would depend greatly on Tuesday's game. Guillen wouldn't save Thursday's possible starter at the expense of losing tonight.

I am a little surpised the Twins are not starting Liriano on three days' rest. He has had two poor starts among his last three, but the Sox haven't seen him at all this year. The Twins, I am sure, are hoping to start him against the Rays Thursday, but I also expect he would be in the pen in the event Blackburn runs into early trouble. That's the way I would be playing it if I were Gardenhire.

Probably has a lot to do with still recovering from Tommy John surgery.
