We have one for Mark, might as well make one for Paulie.

He's been our most consistent hitter over the past 2 months, hitting .307 in that span.

other final 2 months stats....

13 HRs
27 RBIs
21 Ks vs. 25 BBs
24 Runs Scored
1.066 OPS

Without him stepping it up we'd be sitting at home watching the Twins play the Rays right now.

I know a lot of people are calling for his head too, but I think its fair we give it up to Paulie.

Thanks Paulie!

Paulie's alright in my book.

Thanks, PK.

I wish Konerko didn't have 10/5 rights. I love the guy, but from a baseball point of view, we should trade him.

I really agree with this. I think that he's been the most clutch this month. Out of all of our hitters, he seems to have the most fire. Hopefully they'll live for another day after this!

Paulie needs 2 more home runs for 300 in his career. He's also sitting at a .792 OPS. Hitting 2 homers and getting a couple of extra base hits could raise that to .800 on the season, which would mean a somewhat decent season for him.

What's even better is that if Paulie accomplishes these feats, our chances of winning these next two games will be good.

Hopefully the guys ahead of him will get on so that it will maximize the damage he could potentially do.

... (this post was too long so I had to shorten the quote)

:rolling: Yeah, pretty much. But specifically, I hate to see fans throw players under the bus that have basically contributed to any and all success this team has had in the last decade. No matter how ****ty Buehrle, Dye, Konerko or Contreras are playing I'm not going to boo them on principle. Turning on your players for a bad month or two is much more Wrigley Field style. Guys who have never made a legit contribution to the club I can understand, but booing a guy who was the ALCS MVP and is second in team history in homers is pretty weak in my book. Particularly because you look at the way Paulie looks and acts and he seems to take each and every loss as a personal tragedy and consider it his own fault. Maybe I'm seeing a different expression than other people are...

I agree he's definitely hit his stride as of late. And hopefully he'll keep hitting like he used to.
But we really do need to stop making these appreciation threads because they scare the shiz out of me.

I follow you there completely.

I see Mark and PK as the heart and soul of this franchise, and I for one will be sad to see PK leave if that's what the front office plans to do with him.

We have a lot of players on this team that have left their foot print on various teams throughout their career but Mark, PK and Joe are the only ones I can think of that have had a long career where the Sox are the only team you can attribute them to, and we may be seeing 2 of them move on after this year.

Just remember what those guys did for us in 05, and how they've always played their tails off.

I will come clean and admit that I've been one of those all over Paulie this year.

Just as it was deserved earlier, so is a thank you for sticking with it and producing when few on the team were and they needed it most.

Thank you, Paulie.

I don't know why you think we'd see Mark move on after this year. I'd place the odds of that close to ZERO. As far as trading Paulie, I hear that from people here, but I highly doubt this organization trades THAT guy. Not with how he has delivered when healthy this season. That seems silly to trade him now. I wouldn't be surprised if the core comes back next year as is.

PK is one of those guys who can drive you absolutely bonkers when he's struggling, but when he's hot he is fun to watch at the plate.

Thanks for the years of Sox service, Paulie! :D:
