Is it raining?

This could be a good thing. I highly doubt DET wants to be here at all. The longer the wait, the more it may throw them off.

If it weren't rotating, we might have started on time, but this may take a while to clear.

Hour by hour says thunderstorms as late as 5 PM local time.

I'd rather have good weather. We have some large guys with some old muscles/bones/joints that I'd really like to see only have to loosen up once, and to not struggle to do so...

That said, weather should not be the reason we win/lose this game.

Considering my Twins fan boss conveniently scheduled a meeting for us from 130-300, a two-hour delay doesn't sound so bad. A four hour delay - allowing me to get home from work to watch it - would be heavenly. Sucks for those going to the game though.

That won't be a problem. They won't start their stretching routine until they know they will be starting at a given time.

This isn't too bad. I told my staff today that all operatory televisions will have the Sox game on and they may experience significant mood swings during the proceedings. This will mean that the game won't be too far along by the time we're finished with the afternoon.

I really didn't want to start throwing syringes against the wall.

I thought that too, but since yesterday afternoon, they've been advertising that the game would be on ESPN360.com all over the place, so I was hoping I'd be able to watch it here at work. It seemed surprising, but they have it listed on the website as what's on there this afternoon.

Don't believe so, as long as you aren't in the Sox blackout area, which it sounds like you aren't. Just depends on whether or not your ISP pays for ESPN360.

Not all games, just simulcasting ESPN broadcasts, I do believe.

ESPN360 isn't really free, either. Your ISP pays for it.

I'm at Michigan State, and yes, I do get ESPN360 through them. It looks like the game isn't actually on Fox Sports Detroit, so I guess that might keep the Tigers from blacking it out on ESPN360, right?

We just had a nice period of downpour. I'd imagine it would take about an hour to get the field ready and the players warmed up. But, the rain hasn't even stopped yet. I wouldn't think the tarp could come off until 2:30 at the earliest.
