I don't know if this has been addressed but I just thought about it. When it's 6-4 starting the 8th why aren't the Sox playing tight on the line to avoid doubles. Harris hits one down the line and then Span hits the triple down the line.

Why aren't the Sox playing no extra base hits? Worst comes to worse make them hit 3-4 singles to score 2 runs.

Does this lie on the hands of Ozzie or just a mental lapse by the infielders.

It's on the infielders. Uribe timed that grounder pretty well, it just went under his glove. So he was there to make the play, it just didn't happen.

With Konerko, he was holding Gomez on, and when I saw the replay of the triple, I thought he got off the line waaaaay to much when the pitch was being delivered, especially with a lefty batting. With a lefty up, I probably would have just pivoted and faced up home plate. He shuffled about 2-3 times off the bag to his right, and the ball got by him.
