Lock all the players into the locker room, send a check for $25,000 to the Twins for clean-up of the locker room. Bail money for someone like Toby Hall to slug Gomez in the face. Anything else, oh yeah, sit down Dye, Konerko, Griffey, and Thome, and tell them to man the heck up.

This is absolutely the biggest joke ever. I would have rather lost by 30 games than to gone down like this. You are up 6 to 1. He ain't no f'n Ricky Henderson Hawk. Shut up. How embarrassing. We suck, we suck we suck. We have a 6 to 1 lead and can't add to it as usual. Thanks for having D. Wise in the lineup Ozzie. We traded for Swisher and gave up 1/2 the minor leagues. Granted, he has sucked, but I would have rather gone down with him. Honestly, could we have had a bigger slap in the face tonight?

Kenny Williams refuses to overhaul his roster and you get this. No offensive versatility hurts. Always.

This team scored runs with any aplomb in ONE INNING in THREE GAMES. Most of those runs were gifts. The Twins could score whenever.

The division was piss poor this year, and the Twins even had Hunter and Santana gone. Liriano was not even in the picture 'til late.

Yes, our Sox were better than the 90 loss team of last year. Just not THAT much better. I'll take 2nd after last year.

The last 52 hours have been the biggest regular season choke the White Sox have managed to cook up since I began following the team a decade and a half ago. And somehow it actually hurts worse than the 2000 ALDS sweep.

I suppose I could take solace in the fact that the Sox still control their own destiny. Win out and they're in. Sadly, I think that just means the misery will be prolonged a day or two.

You want to be playing good baseball late in the year. The only reason the Sox were up in this division is because the Twins kept losing. The Sox DID NOTHING in the last two months to distance themselves. Maybe this will hurt Kenny enough to trade these losers away.

Get these slow, plodding losers off the roster at all costs. Do what the Phillies did to become contenders. Get Thome's ass off the roster.

Thank you, White Sox, for making me loko like a ****ing psycho in front of my girlfriend, who has since left the apartment and has yet to come back. That said, I do believe we still have a shot. We're at home. That is all.

It's amazing how one player's injury affected this team. This is a sub .500 team without TCQ.

That alone should help him get the MVP, though we know it won't.

I've tried to remain optimistic all year...but this team is done.

I hung in there with this team all year. How many days in first place?

This hurts pretty bad. This is the end of a era.

Goodbye Paulie I will remember thee. When we needed you, you never showed.

goodby Joe Crede, you had some shining moments but I've already forgotten thee.

goodbye OC, you were the best sox ss in many years but your just a mercenary and I've already forgotten thee.

goodbye Dotel, we had to pitch poor Bobby Jenks because you suck balls and I've already forgotten thee.

goodbye Greg Walker, you had one good season in the bigs and one good season as hitting coach.

goodbye Joey Cora you will be managing somewhere next year.

goodbye Brian Anderson we hardly knew thee.

goodbye DeWayne Wise, you had ten good games in your MLB career.

goodbye HOF Griffey you are a washed up shell of yourself. Enjoy your retirement.

goodbye Javy Vasquez gone in trade. You never exceeded expectations.

Maybe it's time to concede that the Twins are the BETTER team. They beatr our best starter and our closer.

3rd, 4th hitters are hitting over .300
They have a .309 average with RISP.
They cover a lot of ground on defense.
They are the best hitting team with 2 outs.

Some of that may only happen once a season.

They can do quite well beating up a piss poor fundamental team.

They won't make it to the series because they play other teams who play fundamentaly sound and have more talent.

The Twins will never fill up a fantasy roster like the Sox. IF they make it to the post season they are the BETTER team.

They don't suck. We do.

This team is dead and everybody knows it. The only way to the playoffs now is backing in.

Now that I think of it, do we want to endure our team and all its weaknessed potentially go three and out in the ALDS should we somehow get there?

Yes, because at least they win the division that way and this isn't an organization that goes to the playoffs a lot. This could have been a historical year for the Sox, going to the playoffs 3 times in a decade for the first time since the 1910's. Instead they completely fold.

All I said is they still control their own destiny and it'd be nice if they played the next few days like it. That's simply a fact that cannot be disputed.

It's also a fact that the Sox have no heart, and don't seem to give a **** about winning. Heck, I bet right now in the metrodome clubhouse, the Sox players are happily booking tee times for monday morning.

Only two hits after the fourth inning against a Twins bullpen the rest of the league has been lighting up.

I wish I could be that bad at my job and still be able to come to work each day not worrying about my job security.

If/when we miss the playoffs, his ass better be gone the first day after the season. All the people that argue that it's not his fault, sure some of it may not be. Than you may not have been a Sox fan for very long. This is what I grew up watching - the Sox chocking year after year after year...... Granted, they weren't in 1st place just about all season long, but everytime they had a chance they'd choke. At least they won a series in our lifetime...

I've been a Sox fan for over 40 years. Yes, I've seen them choke before. But to get swept out of first place by a team that's driven us nuts for a long time at this point of the season, particularly by blowing a five-run lead in the last game, is hard to take. Probably not unlike how the Yankees drove Sox fans mad back in the 1950s, but that was before even my time.

The Twins are on a roll and they're at home against KC. I don't like our chances. All you can do is hope for a turnaround.

If we had won 6-1 I would've said we won in spite of Ozzie. This lineup was ****ing idiotic. Most of the runs came from their idiotic mistakes, but even if we scored 10, it still would've been idiotic to use the same thing that has worked terrible against hittable pitchers. Meanwhile, our LF and CF can't get to critical fly balls and continue to misplay balls in the biggest series of the year.

Yeah, everyone thought Ozzie was joking and brilliant when he said we'd get swept here, we'll, his terrified look and demeanor throughout the series sure translated well to the players. Meanwhile, he's busy being the big reason for about 5 different conflicts in the clubhouse, again, during the biggest series of the year.

I give credit to a guy like Cabrera who speaks the truth (and whose big HR broke our corpseball streak when we were about to be no hit). Or AJ with another great AB, fighting off pitches and getting on anyway possible, just like in KC.

This is just terrible, the Twins are average, the Yankees, Orioles, and Royals are bad, but we can't put them away. **** you Ozzie, you won't be fired, so do us a favor and resign

It's not just one thing, the whole team is just falling apart. Injuries, the starting pitching has been good but not pitching very deep, terrible bullpen, nonexistent offense. Just a complete implosion. I don't think you can point the finger at any one person.

Bad offense; bad defense; and bad managing. The manager's job is to put the team in its best position to win: Guillen consistently fails to do this.
Jenks pitching 2.1 innings, longest of years.(Linebrink? Dotel?).
DeWayne Wise at leadoff - Guillen's fascination with hacking is just beyond belief. .250 career obp, sub 300 obp this year - that's a lead off hitter in Ozzie's world. What an eye for talent.

I will offer two positive perspectives to this train wreck: One, IF they run the table and pull this out (yeah, I know it's a HUGE if) it will feel so much sweeter. Two, if they don't pull it out, then the next White Sox championship will feel all the sweeter as well. Because all I thought about after '05 was, "This is sweet redemption for 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004. A Twins sweep against the Royals is NOT guaranteed. Don't stop believin.

Man, I'm about as optimistic as a Sox fan gets, but I just feel this team is done. I hate to say it, but they've been playing like they're just waiting for the season to end instead of a team fighting for a playoff spot for a while now. It's just disgusting. This offense is as flat as it can be, especially the heart of the order. I swear, when 3-4-5 came up tonight, I just felt like they were going to be automatic outs. I had more confidence in Cabrera and Uribe. And what's DeWayne Wise doing out there for a 3rd game?

This whole series was frustating. Javy doesn't bother to show up. MB pitches a good game and gets no support. Jenks blows it. The offense does nothing. The Twins practicaly gave the Sox this game in the 4th and the Sox let them chip their way back.

Kenny, blow this team up.

The only game that ranks higher is game 4 of the 1983 ALCS (the Tito ****ing Landrum game). The only reason this one isn't higher is that as slight as it may be we still have a chance at the post-season. Honestly, I'm not sure it matters. It's obvious the Sox would get routed in the post-season because to get there they'll have to burnout the pitching staff and our hitting is not good (understatement).

How in the hell is it Ozzie's fault that no one can hit? What lineup was he supposed to throw out there? The only change you could logically argue is Swisher for D. Wise. I have complained about that, but I have also complained that Swisher was like 7 for his last 71. It is absolutely ridiculous for all of you to blame Ozzie. If you want to blame him, blame him for overmanaging a crappy team and getting them to a point where they should have won the division. You can't win, if you don't hit! Change the batting coach, for a scape goat. I agree with that. If you want more, go back to Bevington, Manual, et. al. I for one won't be around to watch it.

It's time to clean house From KW to Walker to 100 slow DH's this team has and maybe get a leadoff hitter one of vthese years! Tonight's loss was horrid and worst since 2000 playoff game IMO!
No way .... There was no reason for walker to be here this year... no reason... this team needs to be completely re-tooled but KW and Ozzie arn't the problem... both did a lot with a little this year

I'm just gonna go stick my **** in a electrical socket.

Lets just hope the Twins can lose one. As long as the Sox sweep the Indians, they still pretty much make the playoffs.

And tell your friends to thank the Sox if the Cubs go all the way (ewww, I even hate to type that) cuz Tribune Co wouldn't have gave a damm until Cub fans saw that winning is more fun than just staying drunk and losing and the Trib finally had to invest a little money in their cash cow.

My brother thinks Ozzie might step down,
One can dream. But there's little chance - Guillen's ego won't allow it.
JR said Ozzie did a "fantastic" job in 2007 and Williams gave him a crazy extension, so Ozzie it is.

We need to get rid of Konerko, Dye and Thome. Seriously. They produce solid numbers throughout the season, but they have shown that they cannot produce in these situations. Seriously.

I mean seriously.. come on..

Harry Chappas

Didn't Thome reach his AB incentive? Isn't he guaranteed 13 million next year? I'd love to see them get rid of Thome and Konerko but is that even feasible? Aren't we pretty much stuck with them? With those two base cloggers, a slow-footed and aging Dye, a extremely mediocre Nick Swisher, and no everyday CF, I just don't see how this team can be overhauled in a meaningful way. Color me skeptical. I think the team will be without OC's services and he is one of the few guys that played up to his ability.

I have been a White Sox fan since 1972. I am 44 years old. That is the second most depressing loss in my White Sox fandom. We scored in five ****ing innings during this entire series.

I honestly thank you for reminding me of a more depressing loss. That one was worse, no doubt. Good night all. A good season, I guess, but what an ending. It isn't over, but, I feel like it is. God owe's me one for tonight, so maybe there will be a miracle in store.

Dear 2008 White Sox,

**** You Ozzie Guillen. We thank you for 2005. But it's time to move on. You are the most stubborn, prideful, arrogant, insane piece of crap. Your skills as a manager have not developed one bit in your five seasons on the job. You know nothing about defense in the outfield. You know nothing about strategy other than lefty-righty matchups. Your bullpen managment is atrocious. It's clear you don't spend any time teaching or drilling fundamentals. I hope you get fired.

**** You Kenny Williams. While you deserve credit for the Floyd, Danks, Alexei and Quentin acquisitions, you have put together yet another old, slow, plodding team full of DHs. Instead of paying the price for bullpen help, you give Ozzie another washed-up DH to play CF. You think you're a genius, but you've officially re-earned the title "Professor Chaos." I hope you get fired.

**** You Paul Konerko. I feel badly that you had some injury problems this year, but your constant groundouts to shortstop have gotten way old. Thanks for the big 2005 homers, but I'm so done with you and your interminably long slumps and your despicably complete lack of any ability to run; my infant son can outrun you, and he can't even walk yet. Your pathetic first half probably cost the Sox a few wins that would have come in really handy right now. I hope you get traded to the Angels because I never want to see you in Sox pinstripes again.

**** You Greg Walker. You may have the hardest uniformed job in baseball, and you may be a great guy, but your "swing for the fences" mentality has gotten old. Your hitters can't do anything else. I hope you get fired.

**** You Hawk Harrelson. Your act has gotten tired. We're sick of whining about umpires; you have taught this team to whine so much that I'm certain that umpires now intentionally make calls against the Sox. Your swing for the fences hitting philosophy has permeated the Sox organization, top to bottom, so that the only constant from Great Falls to 35th and Shields is that players who hit for power are the ones who get promoted. Go root for the Twins and take your Al Dark and Carl Yaztremski stories with you. I hope you get fired.

**** You Carlos Quentin. You finished a degree from Stanford in three years and you hit the heck out of the ball this year. But your incredibly stupid bat-punching landed you on the surgeons table and out of the lineup. Your immature, stupid, 10-cent brain fart may very well have cost the Sox a few games this month. I want you back next year, but grow the **** up.

**** You Nick Swisher. You have nice hustle and seem like a great person. But your performance this year has been atrocious. I really don't want to see you back next year.

**** You Orlando Cabrera. You are a me-first piece of crap. Just go away and give us our two draft picks.

There. I feel a little better.

Two things I will never forget about 2008:

1) three times, the Sox blew 4 or 5 run leads to the Twins. If the Sox only do that twice (which is still pathetic), they would have won the div.

2) Jenks had two guys 0-2. If he gets ONE of them out, the Sox win the game and most likely the div.

I will remember these two things until the day I die.

Out of curiousity, why are we so quick to call for Ozzie's head and not Kenny's? Granted i don't think Ozzie is the genius he was in '05, but Kenny put together this steaming pile of **** and called them "Chicago Tough" and instead you got Cabrera saying this team isn't a playoff caliber team and blaming a poor start to cold weather and Swisher is pouting for being benched after he hit 2 ****ing 20

I wish I couldn't go to school tomarrow. I hate answering the questing "What wrong with the Sox?" From my tubby Cubs fan friend. I don't know about you guys but I'm rooting for the Rays in the playoffs. If they don't make it to the WS, then GO CUBS! :whiner:

Lets just hope the Twins can lose one. As long as the Sox sweep the Indians, they still pretty much make the playoffs.

You MUST be drunk. I will root for the Rays, Twins, Red Sox, Angels, Indians, Tigers, Blue Jays, Royals, etc., etc. before I EVER root for the Cubs! And if you were a true Sox fan, you would tell your tubby Cubs fan to get lost and then go out and buy the hat of WHATEVER team is playing the Cubs in the Series!!:gulp:

Extremely dissapointed in the Sox. I really really dislike the Twins and losing to them is very tough to swallow. It was great hearing all the booing all night in the dome on pick off attempts and nearly every strike called late. Such classy fans.

Walker (or the players who believe in HR or bust) must go

Ozzie better get smarter or he needs to be shown the door too

Jenks.... I honestly would trade him while his stock is high..if it even still is. His K's are down this year as is his MPH and I think he has peaked.

I never give up until we are elimnated but I don't hold out much hope as the team is mentally in the dumps.

Two more thoughts..

Why throw a FB on a 0-2 count to Span in the 8th?

Gomez... my new most disliked player... what arrogance for a guy hitting .260 and I just love his fake dives

But I'd like to hear from the bright, fluffy clouds? First place!!

This offense being horrendous is one thing, but pitch selection ultimately cost us the game. Jenks waiting an inning too long before deciding to throw his hook and I don't think Thornton even features an offspeed pitch. Throw a ****ing curve ball once in a while fellas!!

This is very true. I couldn't believe he wasn't throwing the hook on those hitters, especially 0-2. It's actually kind of baffling, very strange.

The Tito Landrum game was much worse than this, because they were eliminated, and because Britt Burns really stepped up and showed some heart. Did you see any Sox players show heart tonight?

There was nothing worse than this. The Sox were eliminated tonight, too. Forget the math. They are done and deserve to be done. A 3-7 road trip and a blown 6-1 lead says it all. They will be swept by the Indians, too.

Than you may not have been a Sox fan for very long. This is what I grew up watching - the Sox chocking year after year after year...... Granted, they weren't in 1st place just about all season long, but everytime they had a chance they'd choke. At least they won a series in our lifetime...

True. Anyone who saw this team in the '70's realizes what a gift 2005 was. This will probably clear some more off the bandwagon and maybe I can get better seats.

Im so speechless. I cant believe we blew a 6-1 lead. I cant believe we got swept. I dont understand *** the problem is when we play in the dome. I will say this:

If somehow, someway the White Sox manage to make the postseason this year they do not belong there. They should forfeit the division to the Twins to stop further embarrassment.

Im sick to my stomach. I think their AAA team coulda put up a better fight than this..............

Oh well, bring on the Indians and hope the Royals can take 2-3 from the Twins......

Pretty much spot on. This team has been broken all year, but the new blood on this roster pretty much kept the Sox afloat all year.

It's time to turn the page on the WS team. Ship all of 'em out except Buehrle and Jenks. Get us some players that don't have the huge contracts to "feel better about when the season ends".

It's Ozzie's fault huh? Too bad he can't swing the bats for them...then you'd REALLY hate him.

I do question our philosophy in the batter's box. We try to pull outside pitches. We first ball hack. Where are the coaches?

I'm afraid Greg Walker is gone at season's end.

Because Ozzie can't manage his way out of a paper bag.

I'll be pleased if and when Walker is fired, but they'll just bring in another "swing for the fences" hitting coach.

What have they done for us lately? Not much.

Jermaine Dye has hit .286 this season... That's a good .015 higher than his career average. Yeah, he's been slumping when we need him most. But that doesn't mean that we should trash him.

I love the Sox no matter what. This is what it is to be a fan. There will be pain and there will be elation. But no matter what, I'm with the White Sox. The'yre my baseball team. It will take a lot more than one tough end-of-season to crush me. Despite this tormentful experience . . . I still say. . . go Sox!

Sunday when we look back on this season remember two things:

1. Four of the eight losses in the House of Horrors came by one run.

2. Three of the eight losses saw the Sox have at least a four run lead in the middle innings and they urinated every game away.

Mentally this team is finished.

I'd be shocked and elated.

He cannot inspire his players, teach his players, or outsmart the other manager. What the hell good is he?

Maybe because he isn't coaching high school. This is at the professional level.
Keep in mind this was suppose to be a 4th place team. You do have to point a lot of fingers at the veterans on this team. If it weren't for Danks, FLoyd, Quentin and Ramirez this time would have never sniffed 1st place.
When it came down to crunch time the veterans choked again.

For all the **** Ozzie has gotten lately for putting our other crap in the game when it matters, it's tough for many people to argue that his managing lost this game. You can't have it both ways.
