This is news to me. I do see where he can be somewhat of a selfish player, but not to the point where the team would go after him. This sounds more like someone trying to stir up the pot. I'll see what I can find out tonight.

This franchise may as well start over after this year. Ichiro is really the only reason they draw any semblance of attendance at their games. If the players don't like him maybe they should try winning a few ****ing games.

I've heard these types of rumblings before. I'm guessing a lot of it stems from the fact that the mariners have been pretty bad the last few years while Ichiro keeps putting up big numbers and breaking records. Could cause some jealousy or just rub people the wrong way. Who knows, maybe the language barrier is a factor as well. But I remember everyone seemed to love him as an all star teammate because of his pregame speeches.

The Mariners need a complete house cleaning next year. Ichiro has a no trade clause but I wonder if he'd waive it to go to a contender and get out of that bad situation in Seattle? Not sure if the Sox have the right pieces for that kind of trade anyway.

I have a very hard time seeing Nintendo trade away Ichiro.

This story seems very blown out of proportion. "Teammates Considered Hurting Ichiro" makes it seem like there was a Tonya Harding conspiracy going on when it reality some guy just said that he wanted to "knock him out" which is something that's heard all the time and means nothing.
Anyway, now I hope this makes him want to leave Seattle.

I wouldn't mind him hitting lead-off for us.

seattle's gm may be bad, but hes not a total fool. He knows he would be better off trading away the 23 other guys (because lets face it, King Felix is probably more valuable all things considered) then Ichiro. For us to get him, we would surely have to package 2 of Floyd Danks or Quentin with Poreda and Fields

I've heard from some Japanese faculty and students that Ichiro, while a huge hero in Japan, is also a very cold, arrogant man. It may be getting old in the clubhouse.

Honestly this seems like someone trying to stir up trouble. This apparently occurred in 2007 and again much earlier in the season and it is just coming out now.:scratch::scratch: Not to mention that since this supposedly took place, Ichiro signed a contract extention...Why would he do that if he felt threatened in anyway shape or form? Just doesn't make any sense.

How about a guy we want to knock out for their guy they want to knock out? Javy for Ichiro? They get someone to anchor their rotation and we get someone to anchor our outfield. Sure we will have to throw someone else in...Thome? Swish? Konerko?

I would think that if the Sox floated out Vazquez, Swisher, Fields, and Poreda as bait, to snag Ichiro, that the M's would at least have to consider it.

Now, in order for KW to consider something like that, I would think that the M's would have to eat some of Ichiro's salary.

I think you need to throw Broadway, Richard, and Russell as well. I mean, if you're gonna be ridiculous, you might as well go whole hog.

Sounds about right. Allows them two possible young gems and two for the retool aspect.
