If his stamina permits, the Voice of God himself will be behind (http://www.newsday.com/services/newspaper/printedition/friday/news/ny-spshep055830014sep05,0,7128335.story) the Yankee Stadium public address microphone for the final game Sunday night at Yankee Stadium. I think all of us would like that.

I'm glad this one's on ESPN. I'll definitely be watching it.

Regardless of what we as White Sox fans think of the Yankees, all of us as fans of baseball should be required to watch it.

Agree.

Besides, I think I have a list of about 100 other things I can do with my time than watch that crap.

I'm just glad the last game at Yankee Stadium will be in September and not October. :D:

Quote of the evening was on The Best Damn Sports Show Period:

One streak will be broken, while another continues...The Yankees' postseason streak will end; however, A-Rod's streak of not getting a clutch hit in October will continue.

unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Bob will have the stamina to attend the last game.

Let's hope he makes it. I've read more than one story about MLB players who felt they finally "made it" when they heard their name announce by Bob Sheppard at Yankee Stadium.

Regarding the game, I hope the O's slaughter them. Should be fun watching the riot police trying to keep the peace once the third out is made.

Watch, it'll rain...

Sheppard told the NY Times he WON'T be there but will tape player intros.

The Yankees have offered a limo to take him to the game so I suspect he might still show up.

He won't officially tell anybody his age but it is believed he was born in 1910. What is known is he was the QB for St John's of Brooklyn from 1928-32.

His daughter has been a nun for FIFTY years.

ESPN2 will carry the pregame starting at 6 Chicago time and the game will be on ESPN starting at 7.

I have seen several venues close in recent years and nothing has come close to the last game at the Forum de Montreal mainly because of the 9 minute ovation given to Maurice Richard but I suspect tomorrow night will top that.
