Pretty cool widget on the Twins' site: See the view from any seat in the park. (http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/min/ballpark/seat_view.jsp)

It's a fictional product.
It doesn't matter.

I bid the interior bowl facing glass (suite sliders, press box sliders) for this project a few months ago. Mortenson is building the stadium for them. I had the plans a long time ago. Pretty nice looking stadium. Too bad my company got screwed out of doing the job.

Pretty cool 3D view of teh stadium. You can also type in a seat and a row and it will give you a view of the field from the seat.

It's being called 'Target Field'?

Thought they might have wanted to call it Kirby Pucket Stadium or something like that.

Suffice it to say that no one here will miss the Twinkie Dome.

I have to give it to them, it does look like a pretty cool ballpark. I may have to take a road trip there when the park opens.

Where's the baggie? How about the air conditioning?

Mother Nature will have that one covered.

Kirby Puckett didn't have the opportunity to bid on the naming rights. Enron didn't bid on them either. Nor did Bank One. The Twins might have called it Bleacher Bandit Bowl if you had outbid Target.

I don't know of any major league stadium that was named for a former player, other than Comiskey Park, which was named by and for the man who who built it.

It looks like they bulit the two bullpens in the exact same spot, but there are just 4 rubbers. Does anyone else see that or am I wrong? It was out in left center just next to the trees...

Look from the RF bleachers, one pen is behind [and from what else I've read, above] the other. Nats Park and I think Busch Stadium have them like this.

You now have another reason to hate the Twins.

Good news for Twins, and the other teams in the AL who hated playing in the baggie.

Yeah... 'til like June! I still can't believe they're not going to have a retractable roof on that place.

I've heard reports saying the whole reason they're not having a retractable roof is because the taxpayers weren't going to foot the bill for the extra cost. That seems reasonable.

True, they're the ones who have to sit in Minnesota April.

Is it snowing up there yet, Nellie? :neener:Not yet, but we've had nights in the lower 40's. Good ol' Embarrass Minnesota (International Falls is a piker compared to Embarrass) has already had snow and been below freezing.

We've been in the 80's the last few days, and expect to be for the weekend. I actually like cool, crisp fall weather, and hope it comes back soon.

But they don't open the new park until 2010. :cool:Apparently, the construction schedule is such that they could open it mid-year 2009. A twin-cities sportswriter (Patrick Reusse) is pushing the idea of having the Twins move into the new park midyear, like the Mariners did, so the fans can have their first experience in the new park in good weather, rather than sitting in damp, cold weather saying "why in hell did we build an outdoor park?"

How would they deal with moving season ticket accounts?
