I was glad to see this. Given how notoriously stingy they have been I don't expect him to get in, but he really hasn't gotten the recognition he deserved. He was by far the dominant hitter in baseball for several years, and if not for injuries maybe he could have continued his run long enough to get more serious HOF consideration.

I'm not sure if the White Sox would still be playing in Chicago if it weren't for him, and I would like to see the team show its appreciation by putting up a statue of him someday.

I didn't see any other threads on this - if I am duplicating here the editor should feel free to merge this with an existing thread.

From baseball as a whole, I don't think that he had exactly the right career to get into the HOF, but I do think that the White Sox should honor him in some way. Maybe we should start a statue campaign.
