I don't get what a second opinion is for when he is still in pain?

Here's a second opinion...take as much time as you need, Joe. Swisher was a better hitter than you during your time back.

I don't get what a second opinion is for when he is still in pain?Could be many things. Most likely they are still trying to determine the source of the pain and how to better manage it. Could even be mulling other options like more surgery, who knows. Clearly the surgery he had hasn't taken care of the problem, so they need to find out what will.

The article is about him getting back on the field in 2008 though, not 2009.

It's too bad his career in Chicago had to end on this note. Thank you for all of your years of service here, Joe. I will never forget your heroics, especially in 2005.

I'm surprised that Joe wouldn't even stick around for the rest of the homestand to offer moral support.

A little surprised at this.

Well...I guess that's how it ends, but it is surprising he wouldn't stick around just to cheer those guys on. Although then again, didn't WSCR or something report Buerhle cleaned out his locker right before the All Star Break or something and everyone assumed that meant he had been traded?

Maybe he just took some extra stuff home. Remember when Buehrle did that in 2007 and people thought he was going to be traded?

Crede is getting a second opinion to find a new agent.
