There is also another Cassel brother, Jack Cassel that is a long reliever just called up for the Astros. He replaced an injured Astro's starter yesterday, the same day Matt replaced Brady!

Dang, he's a right hander. I was wishing that Boone Logan could mysteriously attain a season ending injury...

Justin Cassel actually looks (http://minors.baseball-reference.com/players.cgi?pid=30883)pretty decent.
2006: 58 IP, 66 H, 14 BB, 45K, 3.72 ERA, 1.38 WHIP (Combined Rk and A+)
2007: 42.1 IP, 36 H, 17 BB, 34 K, 2.55 ERA, 1.25 WHIP (Combined Rk and A+)
2008: 165 IP, 171 H, 57 BB, 104 K, 3.11 ERA, 1.38 WHIP (All AA) ... He also earned (http://birmingham.barons.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080903&content_id=454042&vkey=pr_t247&fext=.jsp&sid=t247)the League's ERA title.

*All of those 2006 and 2007 stats are about an even split between starting and relieving. In 2008, every appearance is a start.

[EDIT: I see someone beat me to the family connection from yesterday, but here it is anyway]
Yesterday, Matt replaced Brady after Brady got hurt in the first quarter. While that game was finishing, Wandy Rodriguez struck out the side in the first inning, but re-strained his oblique. Who replaced him ... Older brother Jack Cassel.

Also, going into yesterday, they're career stats were strangely similar:
Jack Cassel: 12 career big league appearances; 45.2 IP; 2 Wins
Matt Cassel: 14 career NFL games played in; 39 passing attempts; 2 TD's
