Kind of a non-baseball discussion, but does anyone know where I can buy one of these?

Ebay...it looks like they were just given out to season ticket holders. Some people do advertise methods of getting the rings out of cubes.

They were? This ST holder never got something that nice!

Didn't they give Scout Seat and skybox owners stuff like this?

FYI an item that is altered, the value goes down.
Great find, I'm watching this item.

I'm not sure. The Scout Seat guy in my office most likely would have shown it to me (he gets all his White Sox shipments to the office). He's shown me other gifts the Sox have sent him that I, a mere plebeian ticket holder, did not get like an embroidered laptop bag and other nice things.

If it makes you feel better, I only have partial season tickets, so I don't even get what you do.

Nah, probably didn't make you feel better.

Yeah, the eBay description says only "premium" season ticket holders got those... It's still a fake ring, though, in case anyone thought they could get their hands on 14 carats of diamonds for under $150. :o:

I've always thought (right or wrong, I don't know) that it's actually a very small ring and that the paperweight casing actually somehow magnifies that. Now, I have no idea if that's true, but it's always made sense to me.

It's still nice, as far as paperweights go.

Oh yeah, for sure. It would definitely make for a great keepsake.

I still would have purchased an actual replica of that ring for $100 or so, to bad they didn't do that. The ones on ring day don't count.

The Sox gave pendants that match the ring to female members of the staff/office, and I wished -- still wish -- that they'd do a replica (CZs, not diamonds, but not base metal) and sell those. I'd love to have one! Most baseball jewelry is tacky, IMO, but that would be very pretty.
