Something to get our minds off the Quentin situation...I was thinking the other day about why there is no HR sign at the Cell counting the career HRs of both Griffey and Thome. I think there should be some kind of sign there and it would be fun for the fans to slide a new number in for every HR they hit one out. We had one for Jim's 500 milestone countdown last year but nothing for this season. This is the first time a 500HR guy and a 600HR guy are in the same lineup together. How cool would it be to have the two HR numbers on a sign by the billboards or something? Thome is about to pass Mantle and Griffey is about to pass the cheater Sosa and move closer to Mays. Shouldn't these milestones be celebrated a bit more by the team? I know they are in a pennant race but it would still be fun for the home fans. Just a thought.

Maybe it's because neither guy has been here a real long time. :dunno:

The A's and the Jays put count banners up for Frank when he was on their teams the last few years.

How is a homerun counter fun for all the fans?

Just display the overall total of video screen after it's hit.

I am all for counters when they are approaching a big milestone (IE 500 HRs or 600 HRs not for 610) Whats the record for most HRs for a team in a single season...maybe get a count up on that

Hello, Exactly.

I think Thome's homer in Boston was his 100th with the White Sox. I still don't think we should be counting their home runs at the Cell, but thought it was interesting.
