Friday: Galarraga vs. Liriano

Saturday: Verlander vs. Baker

Sunday: Lambert vs. Perkins

Galarraga has been solid the last month. Maybe they can steal one tonight.

The tigers need to gain some respect back, I look for this series to be close with the tigers possibly stealing two of three.

Would be perfect if the sox take 2 of 3 or sweep.

some tension there between Verlander and Gomez. We might see Extracurricular activites today between those two clubs.

Next time if I am Verlander, I'm putting that baseball on Gomez chin.

I hate that guy's antics and showboating all the time.

Gomez is a complete idiot. The catcher setup inside and Verlander pitched inside. I doubt that was intentional. I liked how Verlander almost picked him off though. Gomez is a punk.

2-1. Cabrera and Sheffield went for the fences there when a single could of done the job. That's what happens when you have a bunch of power hitters in your lineup. In the Tigers' case, one good young power hitter and a really old and unproductive one.

Plus, with a name like DENARD, how could you not like him?I could dislike someone named Denard very easily. In fact, that is a very good reason to dislike someone.

He has had an unbelievable year, but just par for the course with the Twins. He is a terrible player. Next year he will be hitting .140 in May before getting sent down. The Twins always do this. Call up a ****ty minor leaguer, he catches fire and has a monster fluke season, they turn into a pumpkin in the playoffs, and the player returns to sucking the next year. See Lew Ford, Tyner, Punto, et al.

The Twins are a waste of a playoff spot. Always have been, always will be. I'm not saying we'll do any better, but in the year they weren't there, we went all the way. Last year, Cleveland almost went to the WS. The year before that Detroit went to the WS. The Twins have won one playoff series in their previous 4 postseasons. Their style of baseball just can't compete with good teams day in and day out.

What a horrible name, he had to hear it in school.

To quote George Carlin

Pridie is lol, but I see what you're getting at since he was talking specifically first names.

Why does it always seem when a team has to get a save against the Twins in the dome, they're always facing the top of the order?

Fernando Rodney will be your pitcher.

Ugh, it has to be Mauer and Morneau coming up. I hope Rodney nails it down. He certainly was tough against us this year.

Kitties taking 2 of 3 at the dome. Is the Twins magic turf pixy dust wearing off finally? Twinkees having some major bullpen issues too.

Twins are on their heels right now. The energy in the Metrodump crowd in that 9th inning was enough to power a small flashlight for about 15 seconds.

I graciously agree. Losing two out of three after leading for much of the game in all three games. What failures.

I was watching this game on Gameday and my internet stopped working in the bottom of the 9th! Good to know that the Tigers beat them Twinkies though.

I hate Comcast Internet, but I love CSN.

Twins are on their heels right now. The energy in the Metrodump crowd in that 9th inning was enough to power a small flashlight for about 15 seconds.

What is incredible about the Twins of late is that both home and away, they can't win close games. The last time they won a game close enough for the Twins bullpen to record a save was the third game in the second trip to Seattle, when they won 6-5. Nathan recorded the save after the Mariners had the tying run thrown out at the plate following a two-out single with a runner on second.

The four games before that the Twins lost despite leading in the eighth inning or later. In Oakland, the A's were blown out twice, and scratched out last-at-bat wins in the other two games. The Twins lost two close games in Toronto before being blown out in the third.

Now they have come home and the same pattern persists.

Nathan, by the way, recorded his first blown save this year to the Royals. That was in May. Playing mostly losing teams hasn't seemed to be helping the Twins, and that should be cause for concern.
