Derrek Lee agrees with Obama (http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080826-derrek-lee-barack-obama-chicago-cubs,1,3928547.story)

"Fans" are actually calling into the Score saying to get rid of Lee and the Cubs should take their chances this year without him.....just adding to the stereotype.

The funny thing is what Obama and Lee said is true (and isn't directed at everyone rooting for the Cubs) and apparently it's that group of fans that are 21-30 that seem to be taking offense to it for some odd reason that I can't figure out. /teal

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

**** the Cubs and **** their fans (except for one person that I know). Their fans don't deserve a team doing this well (until it all comes crashing down around their asses).

Anybody watch ATH? Plashcke (sp?) basically said that the entire nation already knows that Cubs fans dont pay attention and that Obama was the voice of the people...

Derrek Lee just earned more of my respect. I think Cubs fans also forget that he drove in the tying run for the Marlins in the Bartman game.

That guy that called into B&B telling the Cubs to get rid of Lee was hilarious. Seriously, if Cubs fans think that way, we'll trade you a bag of balls for Derrek and have him beat you in October just like he did with the Marlins in 03.

I'm glad somebody else heard the show and that caller, they basically just kept calling him an idiot and even though they pointed out the comments weren't directed at him he didn't seem to care.

There is only one obvious conclusion in all of this:

BARACK OBAMA AND DERRICK LEE ARE MEATBALL WHITE SOX FANS! :redneck:redneck

Telander's article on this is mindnumbing. If you really vote, or don't vote, for a person based on what team they cheer for, you are a total idiot who shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Telander has outdone himself with this and may have even outdone Mariotti with this stupidity.

Even if one buys into this idiotic theory of sports allegiances influencing voting, then wouldn't it actually help Obama? After all, he already has Illinois wrapped, so wouldn't his dissing of Cub fans help him in the battle states of Ohio, Missouri, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc. where the majority of people think Cub fans are clowns as well?

So the argument fails even on his absurd level.
