At the risk of sounding like an old man (I'm 24) what the hell ever happened to the art of bunting? It theoretically should be easier to hit a ball with a still bat than to hit a ball with a moving bat.

Random fact: Jeff Clement owns the record for most career HRs in high school with 75. 3rd baseman/QB Drew Hensen is 2nd with 70. Third on that list is Micah Owings, pitcher for Arizona, with 69 career bombs.

Iowa has 3 members in the top 12. Pretty impressive for a small state.

Despite being swept, the Mariners played the Twins tough in the Metrodome, except for the first game. The Mariners ripped Twins pitching apart before the Sox shut down the Mariners offense in Chicago. I am surprised with how good the Twins pitching has been over the last eight days. Against the A's in Minnesota, I attributed the pitching to facing a softer offense.

The Twins bullpen faltered Sunday and Monday (just as the Rays bullpen faltered Sunday). Nathan failed to pitch around the error. (I didn't see the game, so I have no idea why the Twins seemed to be playing for the doubleplay that would concede the tie.)

The Twins, of course, make mistakes that lead to opponents' runs. Their relievers struggle at times. I wonder if Twins fans consider their season lost because they blew a game to a last-place team.

Weren't we all...

Predicting wins for Sox opponents is still weak.

Who predicted a Twins win? Re-read the post. I was merely pulling for the Ms to put it away and had a feeling that if they did not it might result in Twins win. But yeah, I am weak for this and you are strong.

Whatever. Keep predicting the sky is falling. I tend to think my team's going to win every game and my opponents are going to lose....but that's just my competitve spirit. If you want to keep predicting 3 run come from behind rallies for the team we are fighting for a playoff spot with, especially when they have shown little offense the last 4 games...go right ahead...I bet it feels great when you're right.

It will be very interesting to see if how the young Twins react to this 4 game losing streak. They still have 8 more in the row on the road so they aren't getting a reprieve anytime soon. Another thing that I didn't really thing about til now, but since the Twins are out West, they surely no our result before they take the field. As long as we keep winning, that adds even more pressure to them when they know they need to win just to keep pace.
