Gordon also hit his first homerun, a 3 run shot. That didn't take long, I'm liking this guy already .

He's 3-3 right now with 3 RBI's

Sweet.

He probably would have been assigned to Winston-Salem if he would have signed sooner. I think they sent him to Kannapolis just because there's only 15-18 games left, and he hasn't played in about 6 weeks.

Birmingham to start next year, for sure.

Looks like this guy is too good for A ball.

Birmingham will be in the playoffs. It would be cool if they dumped Robert Valido and added Beckham to the playoff roster.

I remember years ago Jon Garland made his first AAA start in the playoffs, so it would not be unprecedented.

Beckham's day is done. Oney Guillen replaced him in the 6th inning.

3-3, walk, homer.

Perhaps now we can finally have a prospect on BA's prospect hot sheet.

Just put him in WS and get it over with already.

There's no reason not to promote him to Winston-Salem. Greg Paiml has a .655 OPS. And it won't be long before he's at Birmingham, where Robert Valido (what a disappointment!) is at .567.

I like Boone. He has a major league arm. I hope he figures it out.

And a minor league brain when he's on the bump

Granted the sample size is small, but damn Beckham is looking great (and looked great in the CWS, not to mention the Cape Cod League last year).

I guess the only argument against promoting him is that the season is almost over, but Beckham projects to move quickly through the system anyways so it would be nice to see him move up.

I would say hed probably stay at Kanny the rest of the year for the simple reason that Nick Capra, Buddy Bells assistant took over the manager job there when they replaced Chris Jones.

Cappy has been in the organization a long time and seems to be the next field general of the Minor League when Buddy Bell becomes the Farm Director.

I imagine they'd keep him there as the best instruction probably will come from Capra.

The kid is only twenty three and his major issue is throwing strikes which is due to some sorta mental block. That can be fixed.

Don't you have to pay for it?? I guess I can just look over the scoring but I wanted to actually watch Boone play..:whiner:

Get over it. Your crush/mancrush (depending on your gender) on Boone is really getting old and annoying real fast. You sound like a Boone fan 1st, Sox fan 2nd, which I cannot stand.

Probably not... Most minor league teams don't have their games televised.

Don't know where, but it sounds like he will be playing Fall and/or Winter ball somewhere. At the very least I would expect him to be a spring trainning invitee next spring...especially if he keeps up this pace.

3-3, walk, homer.Could it be they're showcasing Beckham for a trade, knowing full well Oney is there future?
