Clayton sucks and we have to pay him 4.5 mill a year. I don't think that counts as a win. I'd say the Rangers won just because they dumped Clayton's salary on someone which is all they were looking to do. If Myette ever pitches well it's a nice bonus.

A pitcher with a 4.14 ERA sounds like someone we could use - certainly better than one of the worst hitters in the history of baseball, for whom we pay 4million + per year.

One of the worst hitters in the history of baseball? I'm not so sure I'd go that far buddy...he's not great but he's one of the best fielding SS in the game and with our lineup his hitting can be accounted for at other spots.

And, unfortunately, with our pitching, we need all the leather we can find...

I know Jerry has been talking gold glove for Royce, but is it just me, or does he have NO range? I swear that even in the later days, Guillen having more range than Royce. He never makes that play to his left.

In the last few games that I have been able to watch Royce had made some fantastic plays to his left...it seems like his range has improved over last year. If he keeps up this play for the entire year I think he does indeed deserve a shot for the Gold Glove.

No, it isn't just you - he has limited range. We'll see it big time when we play the Twins on concrete (we'll also see the lack of range of all of our infielders, I'm afraid). He makes no errors - that's credible - but an error is no different than a base hit that could have been prevented with a shortstop who could move.

And that bat of his......
And Manuel's abject refusal to pinch hit for him......

Except when you consider his imapct to payroll and the KW (JR) position that "we have more team than we can afford"

the thing though is that instead of clayton we would have valentin playing ss and crede playing 3b, plus another pitching fallback.
