Per Cowley's twitter, Wassermann was sent down to make room for Jose.

He seems to be a real nice guy, I am really glad he got that cup of coffee to tell his grand kids about.

Cup of coffee? He was our best option out of the pen last year it seemed.

A meanless stint and a short one.

To be honest with you, I wouldn't mind if Oh-Do-Tell got sent down.

Wassermann was a nice story last year, but he hasn't shown much this season. Too bad. He's the sort of guy you root for.

Guy has one bad outing and you attack him. Haven't heard you rip him in a while so I guess I'm not surprised.

I guess I should be ripping Ozzie more for putting him in that situation. I'm just glad it didn't cost us the game tonight.

Who would you have brought in for that situation? Just curious.

I would've allowed Buehrle to face one more hitter if Buehrle said he could.

Not much choice these days, too bad the Sox didn't consider giving up a "prospect" and opening up the change purse for Chad Bradford, mostly now with Linebrink out until at least the end of the month.

Alright, I could accept that. Although Guillen rarely lets any of his starters go over 110 pitches, so I pretty much assumed he would take him out as soon as the hit was given up.

You are ****ing insane. Dotel is our second best arm out of the pen. Who the **** are we going to bring up to come even near OD?

It is a stupid statement. There is no reason to even argue about it.

If he's sent down, we don't have a setup man with Linebrink still out. It's not fair to the rest of our pen. We've seen what happens when they're forced out of rhythm.

Out of options. I guess the Sox want to keep him around until the offseason.

Wow, I wish there was teal filter for stupid statements like this.

As thin as the Sox bullpen is right now, you want to dump 1 of the only 3 reliable arms it has right now?

I understand it, but that's too bad as I really like Wasserman. I hope he does well in Charlotte and gets a September call up and does well up here too.

Wassermann appeared yesterday at the WCSF luncheon. He and Brian Anderson arrived late (their ride was held up in traffic), so on his last day with the Sox, Wassermann didn't even get his free lunch! (He could have had BBQ ribs, shark, and shrimp.)

BTW he really does seem like a nice guy. I hope he makes it back up soon.

Why does everyone dislike this guy so much? Yeah, he's over 30, who cares? He's our only SB threat off the bench, and is actually having a very nice season for us. Let's just dump him.

Dotel should absolutely NOT be sent down. But the problem with him is, when he screws up, it always seems to be by the long ball.

It also tends to be in rather clutch situations too. Against the Yankees on national TV, the Cubs in the first game, the Twins, the Red Sox. Granted, those aren't a whole lot of games to blow up in, but those have also been some of our biggest games to date.

Dotel has a 3.35 ERA, a WHIP of 1.20, and 72 K's in 51 IP. Pretty good year I'd say.
