That's not what the company the reporter works for says.

You base this on what set of facts? She looked genuinely pissed off.

By the way, unless this was caustic acid and not water, it is not a felony.

How is this a felony? That dude deserves to get punched in the face though, first of all for looking like a complete tool in his paint (I never understand why people do this, it's not Halloween) and then acting like a complete tool with the water dump.

With the amount of cops that are usually around Wrigley when a game lets out, I think he (and his buddy operating the camera) would of been arrested. If it was a real reporter, that equipment could of been wrecked (mike/the shoulder cam/etc) and the network would of pressed charges.

This looked very staged.

That looks staged. Whether or not it was, it doesn't matter. It was stupid.

I don't get how it looks staged. To me it looks like a lame-ass loser kid and his friend were at Wrigley and decided to do something stupid other than watch the cubs game, but then again, that's pretty much the norm. That girl looked pretty pissed off to me.

How is this a felony?

Public douchebaggery. It's on the books in Cook County.

Well, if he get water in the mic it would probably only be misdemeanor damage to property. I read a story not too long ago about a guy getting charged with harassment and assault when he threw water balloons at a girl in order to have an unsolicited wet t-shirt contest. So there's that. Not saying it should be too serious, just guessing.

Why would he be carrying around a bucket of water?

Is it possible this was a publicity stunt by "Mouthpiece Sports" to get some attention?

I think that entire bit looks staged, from start to finish, with the most telling part being the cameraman's lack of action right before it happened and then his lack of reaction after it happened. Part of a cameraman's job is to be a pseudo bodyguard for the reporter. If you watch the video, he had time to intervene as the guy was sneaking up, and he certainly had time to do something after the water hit. Beyond that, the entire concept is flawed if you think about it. These punks went downtown carrying a 15-gallon Gatorade jug filled with water because they happened to know a reporter would be doing a story in front of Wrigley three hours before the game?

If it were, WSI (the whole Internet for that matter) would have been shut down years ago.

It's staged. Otherwise the cameraman would be beating that loser punk like a drum. Instead, he's filming the whole thing.

It's odd the cameraman just stood there, but perhaps he thought attacking the guy and being arrested for assault was a bad idea.

He could have attempted to grab the guy, and give him a good old fashioned punch in the nose. Every black eye doesn't need to end up in court.

It doesn't need to, but sadly in this day and age, it typically does.

Hell, a cop arresting someone is the grounds for a lawsuit.

"He arrested me with force. FORCE I TELL YOU!!" (mumbles) "Granted, I drove through 3 states, caused hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in damage, punched one cop, kicked another in the nuts, then spat on a third who told me to calm down...."

POLICE BRUTALITY!!!!

Still seems staged.
