Good pics. It looks like a carbon copy of the current stadium.

Too bad the same can't be said of USCF.

I wouldn't have liked USCF to be a carbon copy of Yankee Stadium.

Call me crazy but I think it looks a lot like the Cell. Take off that faux-arch at the top, which is a throwback to the old Yankee Stadium, and peel the upper levels back to the fair side of the fair/foul pole and it looks pretty similar.

Sssh.. This is going to be the greatest ballpark on Earth!

Probably, both the Cell and current Yankee Stadium are modern-design parks, so if they're just making a copy, they'll look a lot alike.

Ok..... too bad USCF isn't close to Comiskey Park

Same architects. There was a thread a year or so ago (I think it was a Fenway thread) which said that USCF was serving as the inspiration for the new Yankee Stadium.

I though it was across the street:scratch:

It really does...

They're lacking a bullpen sports bar though.

Absolutely. There are more than a few similarities.

Yawn.

Am I the only one who couldn't care less about former and/or new Yankee Stadium.

I know it's not done yet, but I'm surprised it's got such a modern look to it. Symmetrical and round with (gasp!) blue seats. The Sox got ripped to shreds for that kind of design.

The seats in those pictures look pretty damn far away from the playing field.
...though I understand that their new park will have about 10,000 more seats than the Cell.

Even unfinished, it looks 100 times better than Comiskey II.

How so? The only real big asthetic difference is the stupid overhang above the U.D... Other than that, this place looks strikingly similar to pre-renovation Comiskey Park.

I dont' know if that stuf accounts for 100x.

Then why click on a thread called "New Yankee Stadium scoreboard installed"?

I like the new scoreboard, I just wish we could get a new one. My favorite scoreboard is the one at Nationals
Park, man is that thing sweet.

I always thought that Comiskey II in it's original blah concrete and blue form looked a lot like Yankee Stadium. The only major difference being the upper deck ending at the foul poles instead of wrapping around them. Other than that, they were very similar in design.

After viewing the Robin Ventura 1991 thread that showed his game winning grand slam at Comiskey II it's amazing how much SOX ball park has changed and now has a very unique character. I no longer think Yankee Stadium like I used to.
