Ozzie gets 2 games off for whatever his part was in the the Sunday brawl (and ensuing comments, likely).

Greinke and Olivo each received 5 game suspensions. Trey Hillman was suspended for 1 game.

Would nice if they serve them next week when they're here.

Or is that asking too much?

2 games seems kind of harsh for what he said he's done in the past.

I can't wait to hear Ozzie's comments about this one.

I wonder if Guillen will appeal and get it knocked down to one. Seems to me off the cuff it's a sure bet the KC players will appeal ... almost everyone does and the suspensions get reduced.

Silly suspension, but at least no players got served.

It is what it is..

I don't think its overly harsh... its just a little reminder not to do anything stupid next week, I think.

It's probably asking too much, but I do think that such player suspensions for fighting (beanballing, etc.) with another team should be handled in that way: serve them the next time your teams play. Good idea!

I don't think managers can appeal

Ozzie can't appeal and must begin serving the suspension immediately. Players can appeal.

Thanks, the ol' memory needed jogging. I bet he has something to say behind the scenes for sure. And also that this won't be the end of it between the two teams. Glad to see Carrasco didn't get suspended.

I'll take a 6 game win streak and a 4 game swing back to 1st in the AL Central giving us a nice lead over the Twinkies.

Any way they could suspend Paul Konerko until 2009?

Maybe not 100% teal.

Suspensions for starting pitchers should begin at 10 games. A five-game supsension with a player who normally plays every fifth game being able to decide when it begins by dropping his appeal (as guaranteed by the basic agreement with the players' union) isn't really punished by a five-game suspension.

Greinke shouldn't want to pitch in Chicago. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes his suspension to avoid any scheduled start at the Cell.

Ozzie will still be pulling all the strings to be sure...not a big deal.

I just hope the appeal doesn't play out so Greinke misses Minnesota.

SP getting suspended 5 games is lame. They'll appeal until it suits either a day off, when the Royals can juggle the rotation and not miss him; or they'll wait until he "needs" a day off to keep his arm fresh for the pennant race with Cleveland.

I love how Olivo will miss the Minnesota series because of this, unless he appeals, things always seem to work out for the Twinkies.

Olivo has already announced his intention to appeal.

I thought it was too. The managers should of been suspended/fined the same. Just because Ozzie said what everyone who has ever watched a baseball game already knows?

Please. Yet another shining moment of the Commish's office......

What he did was reveal baseball's dirty little secret.
