Why is he playing? 6.80 ERA. Wouldn't Seattle benefit by giving someone else some experience? What a joke to their fans.

I hate the gloom and doom but I noticed Minnesota also misses Felix Hernandez which most likely would have been the only remote chance at Seattle taking a game from them.

I read somewhere last week that while the Dome is not the site of the convention itself, it is being used for convention-oriented activities.

Anyway, why would the Twins needs security? As we saw last week, they are peaceful, docile fans who do not get excited when calls go against them.....

I know the stay at nice places, but a hotel room is a hotel room. Yes the Ritz/Westin/Hilton are better than Motel 6, but they aren't the same as the bed you're used to, they don't compensate for being away from your wife and kids, and they don't compare to the much nicer homes these guys have.

On a whim, I check mlb.com for the final score and it was like Christmas to see that the M's came back to win big! This one is for Raul Ibanez!! :gulp:

BTW...how the heck did the M's not trade that guy for a king's ransom at the deadline? He might not play the outfield the greatest but the man can rake.

That's exactly why they didn't trade him. He has been driving in the runs all year and they weren't able to get want they wanted for him. So rather than giving him up for less then they wanted, they kept him and hopefully get him signed.

Of course my faith waivers from time to time, but I don't ever take any pride or joy in predicting the Sox to lose or pointing out they are struggling when I thought they would.

I don't believe I've said the words "I told you so" in regards to the White Sox losing at all. I was wrong about the season. I thought we'd be out of it by this point. I was way off, and I'm happy for it.

I'm not taking any joy in losing. My posts are vented frustration over the team's struggles. I'm not the type to pretend things are going to be okay when there's a pretty good chance they won't.

LOL! That was great. Classic timing on my part.

I'll be here all season for my magical brand of ill-timed sarcasm. Just you guys give me a call when the Sox are down and need a comeback or need a rival to implode.

I was in Seattle this past weekend and got to go to Safeco for the first time. We went to the games on Sat and Sun. I really liked Safeco. IMO, so many of the new stadiums are starting to just blend in with each other (Philly, DC, for example). Safeco has some unique features that I really like. Of course, the fact that I live in Phx and needed to wear a sweatshirt to the Sat night game made me REALLY LOVE Safeco. The weather over the weekend was absolutely perfect. I'm very jealous that you get to live in such a beautiful city!

I like the bleachers in left field on the 2nd level that appear to be fairly close the field and run parallel to the field. Also, I like the fact that when the roof is closed, it's still an open air stadium. Mostly just the fact that it doesn't look exactly like the Phils and Nats new stadium.

On Sat night, since they were losing, they played the rally Jig heading into the 9th. I got a kick out of that. On the big screen, they showed some guy dancing in the bleachers who was doing a great job.

I was impressed with the Seattle fans. For a team that's almost 30 games south of .500, the fans were really into the game on Sunday. The D-backs are in 1st place and their fans don't get half as much into games (typically) as the M's fans were for the Sunday game.
