I guess that's as good a guess as any.

It would be nice if they went on a tear, though. They are due for an extended winning streak of, oh, 7 or 8 games.

We'll win 2 of 3 against Detroit and then somehow split with Boston. I'm not making any Twinkie predicitons though.

If the bullpen doesn't pull its **** together, then we're going down in flames

I like gogo's predictions.
I do too! gogosox, could you send that to the commissioner's office?

In reality, I think we will be in first by 0.5 games.

I'm expecting a series win vs. Detroit and a split with Boston. I'm hoping for a seven-game winning streak during which the pitching stops giving up 19 hits per game and the defense quits commiting 3 errors per. I'd settle to be right where we are come next Monday.

Agreement. I just want this pitching to comeback because if they keep on pitching like this it doesn't matter who we or the Twins play we will not end up in first. But I know this pitching staff can be the best in baseball. They just have to step it up right now. That means come Tuesday Gavin has to bring his A game and pitch awesome.

The Sox will sweep Detroit and split with Boston.

I don't care what the Twins do. The Sox just need to take care of their own business and everything will work out fine.

I think the key to this week will be Buehrle vs Jon Lester.

If Buehrle's fastball is still topping out at 84, I'm going to start to worry.

8 weeks left. They need four wins a week. I think they go 4-3 the next two series.

4-3 both teams. Bigger point would be to step on Detroit's throat this week.
But you just dont know they way the pitching has been with us.

Its easy to say 4-3 or 5-2 but on any given night someone can be white hot or completely off.

"Thats why this game is so beautiful Fiesty."

Sox: 0-7
Twins: 0-7
Tigers: 7-0

Tigers/Twins: tied 1st place
Sox: 0.5 back

Ozzie fired in September. We end the season tied for 4th with KC. Cubs win the World Series. Sox eventually move to Las Vegas in 2011. We all become Cubs fans.

If Kansas City can tee off on us, Detroit and Boston will as well, barring an 180 degree turnaround by the pitching. Detroit scored 17 runs on us in their park in three games. Boston is coming in loaded with offense even without Manny.

Until the pitching starts improving, I'm extremely pessimistic. 2-5 this week. Kansas City has been hammering our pitching too. so 3-7 or 4-6 overall for the homestand. Hopefully the pitching will prove me wrong or the offense will score enough runs to win a bunch of slugfests.
